To expedite the Executive Order, it named the seven nations that had recent terrorist and were already designated as terrorist by President Obama and the United States senate. It left it open for other nations to be included. That came from Reince Priebus, Trump's Chief of Staff.
The US attorney general's argument is it is illegal because it is a ban on religion. The president is responsible for the safety of its citizens. Surely as Attorney General she saw that. The courts are there to determine the legality, not her. Her job was to represent the president for the courts.
There is a big difference between her and me. I followed the law and did my job. Her duty was to follow the law and she did not.
"IF IT WASN'T FOR IMMIGRATION TRUMP WOULDN'T HAVE ANY WIVES"
The media and the opposition puts out statements like this to show that Trump is against immigration. It is not true, but simpletons fall for it. Trump is not against all immigration. He is against illegal immigration.
"So where are those permanent Mediterranean military bases located today?"
"The United States has maintained a naval presence in the Mediterranean since the early 19th century, when U.S. Naval forces first engaged the Barbary pirates to prevent them from interfering with commercial shipping. The earliest unit was the Mediterranean Squadron."
Indirectly since the Mediterranean waters are connected to the Black Sea. But since the Mediterranean also connects to the Atlantic Ocean, then I also forgot to include Portugal (and the rest of the world too).
There are new rules to immigration. The old rules were Obama rules. Trump is now in charge. He makes the rules. He was elected on those rules. They are stricter rules. In spite of all of the protests and the media coverage of such, more Americans approve of it than don't.
It is for the safety of Americans. To prevent anyone from slipping through, the effective date was immediate. This was intended to prevent terrorists from rushing to emigrate before the effective date. The numbers I read were only 11 were detained from 350,000 travelers.
Oh right, had he given it a one week notice all the supposed terrorists would have been rushing off to their local US consulate to buy their visas and all flights between those seven countries and USA would have suddenly filled up and the US immigration department(s) wouldn't have become suspicious at all?
Apparently this was part of his election campaign to ban muslims or whatever and he became president elect, I think, back in December ... So all these supposed terrorists have had since December to, as you put it, "slip through".
I'm sorry RB but your explanations, your defenses of anything Trump does, are so full of holes and you're not likely to realise it all the time you're blowing smoke up Trump's ass.
But don't worry, the Bin Laden family are exempt from these new rules so 'hey ho' another 9/11!
There are 47 predominately Muslim countries. Only seven were named. Yet, the media and the opposition again makes this to be about Muslims and simpletons fall for it.
The opposition and the media also makes building the wall on the southern border to be racism about Mexicans. Yet, Trump has not once targeted those with Mexican heritage already in the US legally.
In a TV interview on "Meet the Press" on Sunday, Reince Priebus, Trump's Chief of Staff was my source for why the executive order was immediate. It was him that said 11 were detained. Perhaps it was the number at the time.
Trump is going through his campaign promises list. The opposition is going bonkers.
I think you're getting in to a totally different ballpark there, Israel etc. is a political hotbed whilst, I don't believe, there is any suggestion from those countries that the reasoning of a ban is of suggestion that Israeli's are likely to commit terrorism.
I had an American guest checking-out yesterday and I joked with him regarding his "famous president", we laughed as I explained that I don't 'do' politics but Trump brings a whole different angle to it, he makes it interesting!
He's only been in office one week and a half and in his first week he'd already pissed of the Mexican president causing him to cancel a state visit, the UK prime minister was straight in to lick his ass, arranged a state visit for Trump to UK later this year, I first read that 350,000 Brits had signed a petition to keep him out, a couple of days later 1.5m had signed it, I question how many may have signed it by now, I doubt that he could possibly visit UK for security reasons.
I can't recall anything like this in my lifetime, how one man can piss so many people off in such a short space of time, I mean this is history in the making and as I type this I am laughing about it, this isn't politics, it's entertainment :)
The Mexican president cannot afford to be pissed. Mexico enjoys a $60 billion trade surplus with the US. On top of that, there are illegal border crossings. The Mexican president is pissed? I haven't seen any such reports. He can't afford to be pissed. That sounds like it came from a simpleton who enjoys seeing people pissed.
He is between a rock and a hard place. His people want him to stand up to Trump. Yet, he has to negotiate. The beginning of the negotiation is for Mexico to pay for that wall.
I was turning channels on TV. I didn't watch it, but the UK Parliament was debating on how to better vet the Muslims coming in. Now, where did that idea come from?
In the mean time, the countries with large muslim populations are telling its people to shut up about Trump. They might be next on the ban list.
In the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of civilians were killed.
Hundreds of thousands were killed in Syria with the Assad regime.
Obama has ordered drone strikes in Syria. Almost everytime, civilians were killed. The war in Afghanistan in the last eight years was under Obama. Civilians are always a part of casualties.
Thousands have been killed by Russia in Syria, Crimea and Eastern Ukraine.
How is Trump going to be a wanted man by simply going after Al Queada and civilians being killed in the process?
I just saw that piece on Yemen. The operation was approved by the Obama Administration to be done in the next new moon. Trump consulted four of his advisers and didn't wait. The troops got more than expected resistance. They ordered air strikes to a building where the heavy gunfire were coming from. There were where the civilians were.
Although the word "seems" was used, it can lead to incorrect and dangerous conclusions.
"He's only been in office for a little more than a week, give him a chance ... Jeez, give the guy a break :)"
Mexico was the first issue Trump tackled as a candidate. This is at least a year old.
For at least a year, he has been called racist. His first speech about the wall for example: He named the crimes Mexican illegals do in the US. All true. Many were offended. What they failed to take into account is his ending sentence, saying there are good illegals. I see what the arguments are. But, Trump did not say illegals are all criminals. They were wrong and so are you.
"Is that what you call "negotiation" RB? :)"
Mexico said no. Trump is now looking into trade negotiation. I would say it is a negotiation.
