This is my last word on the subject. You don't need a pre-nup. Have a kid. The only thing that kept my parents together was the fact that I was their kid. Neither of them wanted me, so they stayed together because neither one wanted to be stuck with custody of me. I never said there is not romance in marriage...quite the opposite. Romance is and has always been one of the main reasons why a couple considers getting married. What I oppose vehemently is the concept that "love is the ONLY thing" needed to have a succesful marriage....That is a crock. Love goes 'poof' in the west if the couple does not practice basic financial common sense and family planning. The stats do not lie, Pitchka. Problems with sex and/or money are the two reasons why over 60% of first marriages fail in the US, at least....for 2nd marriages is over 80%. I'm not a sex therapist, but I have been a financial planner for over 25 years and I know why people have the money problems that ruin their marriages. It's not lack of love, it's lack of financial responsibility that kills the love in many cases. This is just the way it is, don't kill the messenger (moi) for it..
