We are really crazy for each other having spent so many hours talking and writing over four months. We both realize that only when we spend significant time together (in relative terms given the space that seperates us) will we know if we have a future together. But all the signs look good. She is literally everything I could ask for in a woman - intelligent,affectionate, sweet, hard working, practical, down to earth, kind ,patient, gentle, loves kids (wants more kids - I must be insane!), likes to laugh, traditional values, lively, young but not to young, and yes very beautiful to me (a great figure, slim, very cute face, great legs, ample bosom), not a party girl etc.. Of course there is always the possibility that we may not click, or one of us may feel the other has mis-represented themself. Who knows. I am going there positive with deep emotions towards her, but still letting my brain take the lead. I am psyched! And if it dosen't work out, I suppose I will be broken hearted but without regrets, but not broken in my spirit. Don't do a lot of jetskiing - which might be surprising since I live in Wisconsin - on Lake Michigan. But used to race snowmobiles on the local circuit. Did a little cross country racing as well. Requires a little more physical stamina than you might expect. Nothing nicer than going over an unfamiliar hill of fresh powder at 70 to 80 mph and hoping there are no surprises at the bottom. And those barbed wire fences. One reason - I understand that it is an expensive city, second only to Tokyo for tourist visitation. Somewhere I read that for the price of a typical dinner for two in Moscow - you can take a girl out with her immediate family (parents) in St. Petersburg, or you can go out EIGHT TIMES in any of the other FSU countries. Secondly - I come from a small city area. and i intend to live in a similar way for the rest of my life. It's my understanding that Moscow girls are Big City Girls with all of the negative big city attributes that a girl from midtown Manhatten would have. She wouldn't be happy where I want to live. They all agreed that it was too fast paced for them. Whenever we spoke of Moscow I can see by the look on their faces it wasn't the type of city for them. But Ive never been there myself so I just speak from what I was told by people that live in St. Pete. As for dinner, there were many excellent restarants and everywhere I went they had the menu written in English next to Russian. A few of these restarants rival some of the most expensive restarants I have been to in the US. When I took her family out it cost me about $100 to $120 and that was for 4 of us and the food and service was second to none. Its a feeling not unlike looking through pages of your old hometown newspaper and discovering that the children of your old classmates are now parents themselves. I've been here a little longer than a year - that's about two or three "classes" (generations) of people who have come, been all excited about the prospect of this undiscovered (to them anyway) cashe of beautiful, intelligent and interesting Russian women that they can get in contact with ("like a kid in a candy shop"). A few get a belly full of candy that they don't like and go home dissapointed. But a few stay the course. We hear similar question. We are privy to similar elations. And then we get a graduating class of those who leave us. They ususally promise to stop back every once in a while and keep in touch with their "forum friends" but its understandable that they don't as they move on to the next step. Congratulations to the graduating class this time. It appears that members include TimH, trad, perhaps ensata and others. I kind of hoped with my last trip to Moldova to be among you - but it looks like I have a class or two to repeat. So I will go back to summer school. How did this congratulatory post turn depressing?
