I have a pet peeve against religion, especially christianity. What is more the older I get, the more I learn, the more it reinforces it. It seems logical to me. And I am all for logical. I see zero necessity for it. Completely fail to see why people surrender parts of their lives to it. Materialism also is a dead end street. I am not against somebody thinking there is more to what is going on than what we see with our eyes. I have a serious, serious problem with anybody trying to tell (or sell) me that they have the answer. You know the Chinese proverb "If you meet buddha on the road kill him". If anybody tells you they are the sinkhole when it comes to spirituality then walk the hell away from them because they are clueless. I have found this to be utterly true. You only have to watch one of these self absorbed, self engrandised televangelists to know immediately that they are full of crap. I think most of them have stock in hair spray companies. I may be loud but it is not baseless. Sometimes the exposure of a con artist needs to be loud. Maybe we would all get along much better if we talked about our little bit of everything that lives within us and dropped all the holier than thou crap. Everbody is the same, including Russian women. given a choice between a loving man and family or lighting candles every day she will choose the former. Only nature taking its course. I only learned about the special vodka today from my Ukrainian friend. I am intrigued. The stuff has to hurt. It's up to pure speculation depending on who does the speculating, lol... Abismal as it may sound, Calif rates are not much higher than other large population centers like NY, Chigaco, Miami or Detroit or even the eatern seaboard as a regional stat. As one of the many speculators who watches this phenomena develop in our society over the last few decades, I see many factors contributing to specific demographic sectors increasing their divorce rates. Although painful and home wrecking at the time, I can now look back and laugh at the irony of it. I knew something was up when all of a sudden she got into this "All rich people go to hell" nonsense rant... It clicked fairly quickly because once I let her drag me kicking and screaming to attend services at her church and I remembered the blatantly anti-money (but put your money on the plate) tone of the last sermon....yes, there were several. Her "anti-rich people" campaign costs us valuable friendships with good people who worked hard to be wealthy all their lives. Every 5 minutes another one is exposed. I have heard some stuff lately where the church shuffles these guys around the planet where they just repeat offend. They do this knowingly. Personally I don't really think it is an epidemic. I think it has been going on steadily at the same rate since forever. It is just that a few high profile cases have exposed the hundreds (maybe thousands)of lesser ones. It is tragic and I have absolutely no clue why it is so focussed but there you have it life can be very mysterious. Who would have thought a beautiful exotic 36 year old woman from the Ukraine, with a lovely child of 7, would be even remotely interested in a slob like me. But it's true. Don't know what happened to the 40 year old maybe she hasn't been near a computer lately or is having trouble translating. I wish there was a way I could help. Dammit, I am so full of western impatience.
