The thing your forgetting is the fact that these people come from a different value system and culture. Your trying to judge them on judeo/christian ethics. They were isolated from the west in more ways than politics. Cut them a break! Maybe you never saw the long lines to get shoes or toilet paper, I did. Their work ethic is different than ours not nec. bad just market driven. In the west we work hard and most times are rewarded for it with more money. In the FSU it did not matter how hard you worked you got paid the same as the poor worker who just showed up. In 1994 I visited Moscow and they were hurting bad but I still met a lot of fantastic people. Keep your head straight and your money in your pocket. But open your heart and you will find the people are really good. Just use commonsence and caution. I merely state facts. If I didn't like the people (in general) I wouldn't go back as I have three times and I intend to again. But it is not a big %. Very often if a girl is with an arabic man she is thought to be with him for money, or a prostitute, or anything like that. In my circle it is a shame for the girl to be with an arabic man, and nobody will communicate with that girl. In their majority arabic men are not very good...I mean they are rude, they think that it is enough to smile to a girl and she will do anything for him, because he is arabic. And it is hard to get rid of a man. Such a behavior is rather spread among black men, they catch hands, make to stop. Even if a girl runs through the market, buying things and doesn't think about getting acquainted with a girl, they don't care...they are black and so every girl should like them...this is really disgusting. I don't say that all arabic men, black men or Turkish are of that kind, but the majority which comes here are like that, and this is not very pleasant. jetmba. But they were anxious to vacation on one of the Turkish coasts. The lady I spent the most time actually wanted me to take her to the French Riviera, or to Italy. (A LOT of girls, eastern and western would like to be taken to the French Riviera or to Italy). When I expressed my reluctance she decided that we should vacation on the coast of Turkey. She said it was less expensive but (from her view) very prestigious. We didn't go. For other reasons.
