Because those men are so ignorant!!! I bet this man has never even lived in other country. They consider their home country the best of all, but they have no idea about the rest. Starting for them calling themselves "American". America is a continent, not a country. Canadians, Mexicans, for instance, are also Americans. It is not their fault that the founders of US had so little imagination that they couldn't create a name for their country and just choose "United States of America". About ignorance. Take any man on street, show him a world map and ask him where Iraq is. Probably he won't know. Ok, too difficult for the average US man. Show him a map of United States and ask him to locate any US state... probably, he will not know either. This is not prejudice from me, just look on internet and you will find actual statistics about those tests... and most people really fail those simple tests. I remember a post from a US man that I read here, something like women from eastern european countries don't feel too comfortable in "occident", because they are used to go to opera, theater, concerts, which "occidental people" usually don't do! Of course, most people from US don't do it, as all they do is to watch TV, become more and more fat and nothing else. I have been to USA a lot of times for my work, I have even lived there up to 5 months on a trip and I just can't imagine people more ignorant! Such luck of culture!! Well, in case you wonder where I'm from. I'm chilean, university degree (electronics engineer), good salary even compared with european/us standards (but in a country with a lower cost of life, so I have a better standard of life) and I feel even sad that some wonderful woman have to get married to people from US. They should marry men from Europe, Canada, Australia! But from USA.... their men are not worth eastern european women. Let me know when we can look forward to the first Chilean moon landing or other significant contribution to science. Are there prisons in Chile? Are there slums in Chile, Does everyone in your country enjoy the education, wealth and prosperity you have? People and societies are much the same the world over. Don't be so judgmental. We are all individuals. I have no doubt that there are outstanding Chileans as well as Americans (residents of the United States of America) and many other nations. I have had wonderful opportunities in my life to travel to a great many places. All have pros and cons. All have good people and bad. But your generalization of American men only points out your ignorance. It is true we have bums here, men not worthy of the attentions of a snail, but there are many men here who are good hearted, hard working, moral, respectable, and yes, even educated. And I think there are very few circumstances that would dictate that a "wonderful woman have to get married to people from US". My lady did not choose me because I am an American, nor did I choose her because she is a Russian. Destiny made that choice for us and we accept it without question.
