Most likely she was at about that state the the USSR broke up. It was tough times for many people back then as everything changed. But a good looking girl, in her twenties, with a body men like, is never going to starve. She may have to compromise a little - but she is never going to have no options. That's where Modada's internal code was written. And that's why she thinks differently than we do (and differently than we wish Ukrainians would think). She is in her 40's now and she has a devoted (whipped) guy in his 60's (Quazimodo). They are both happy. Let them be. She is trying her best to explain differences in our cultures - and for that she should get credit. She is explaining an underside that we don't want to aknowledge - nor do many other Ukrainians. But its still the truth.
