Racism is alive and well in Australia. It has penetrated the forum and calls itself Danny42. We can only hope that there are not many people in Australia like him.
i Guys! This topic is slights off track but this is my recent experience on an international dating site. The entire process of dating internationally (for the man anyway) that I am starting to wonder if it is worth the effort. However, the thrill of setting out across the globe to find a woman you are really attracted to rather than settling for the plain Jane type in one's local city is well worth the risk. What is life without taking risk and having a sense of adventure??
I am posting this topic to publicize my experience with AFA. I think international dating and marriage agencies have an excellent opportunity to assist sincere men and women in locating marriage partners across the globe and in the process establish a profitable business enterprise and reputation for themselves. Unfortunately, these agencies have developed a deserved reputation for untrustworthy and often criminal behavior. One cannot venture onto an internet dating site anymore without a high risk of getting scammed mostly by having to pay for sending correspondence to possibly fake profiles.
My recent experience with AFA highlights the lack of transparency that exist in the international dating industry. AFA has a system that lacks transparency and no legitimate business could operate this way because a reasonable consumer would not tolerate the inability to verify the delivery of services for which money has been paid. You pay to send a letter on the companies website at www.loveme.com but does not have the ability to independently verify anything. Once the letter is sent and money collected, there is no process for the sender to track the delivery to the intended recipient. One may get a response to a letter sent via express mail, which appear to be the preferred services offered by AFA due to its obviously excellent potential to generate revenue; $10 to send, another $10 to receive a letter and $3.50 per attached photos can add up to a significant sum of money in a very short time. You don't know the ladies address and cannot speak to her independently, therefore the male letter writer, who pays for everything; has to rely solely on the tender mercies of AFA and its network of marriage agencies around the globe. Of course AFA will say that they provide alternative methods of communicating with ladies such as purchasing her virtual email address in which case the lady has the option to write directly to one's personal email address but the reality is that even if one purchase the virtual email address and send a letter, the response will arrive in the express mail mode and will require payment of $10(for non-subscribers) to access. I will post my recent experience with AFA express mail method for you to read both as a warning to others of the dangers of financial loss and to expose what I believe is a fake profile.
I would like to warn anyone who cares to listen about this profile http://loveme.com/women/info124763.htm In early August of 2012 I purchased a virtual email address from A Foreign Affair to send an introduction letter to the lady featured in this profile. I was pleasantly surprised when approximately two hours after sending my introduction letter I received an email announcement there was a letter in my profile inbox on AFA and basically I needed to login and pay $9.99 to open and read this letter. I was a bit disturbed by this because my main reason for purchasing the lady’s virtual email address was to send and receive letters from her via our private email account and not having to pay the $10 cost of receiving and sending each letter in addition to the $3.50 per attached photo. However, I decided not to make an issue about this because I was really attracted to this lady’s profile; I had selected her after scrolling for several hours through approximately 1500 online profiles until my eyeballs hurt, therefore when I received a letter from her expressing an interest, all my concerns about having to pay in order to open her letter disappeared.
In this first letter she asked about four questions one of which was “Why was I looking for a foreign wife L?” I could have asked why was she looking for a foreign husband? But I was polite, I wrote back immediately and told her that I will take a few days to prepare thoughtful answers to all her questions. I had received her letter on a Saturday and by Monday evening I had written and sent her a 2-½-page letter with at least four photos. The cost was $40+.
Initially, there was a reasonable lapse of time between sending and receiving responses that appeared to take into account the time for translation and forwarding of the letters but over the next two weeks after the first three exchanges of letters the delivery pace increased very rapidly. It seemed like I was receiving a reply within three hours after sending a letter and the responses were very generic, weak and always included two photos of the lady. There were no description or comments accompanying the photos. I guess I was supposed to be charmed by her beauty and no words were necessary. For example, I would send descriptive letters about my work, pastime and daily activities to reassure the lady that I was genuinely interested in revealing myself to her and not just a guy playing games on the Internet. The responses I received would consist of a few sentences asking more questions. There was hardly any substantial information coming from the lady. After 37 days of correspondence and $230, the only thing I learned about this lady is that she has wonderful parents; she never mentioned their names. A sister with a husband and baby living in Kiev, and that she was a cosmetology nurse who thinks beauty will save the world. I have never heard of a cosmetology nurse; perhaps they do exist and I will Google the subject.
After about twenty days of this nonsense of me answering her questions, revealing my personal life and not getting any meaningful
And how would you know that? You don't. The only thing you have is fantasy. You have to make up things about other people to feel better about yourself. Your wife and kid should be enough for your happiness, but it isn't.
cossack good post. It has been well documented about the abysmal reputation the foreign affair site has had for the past 12 years. Their socials in particular have an awful reputation for bringing in women from various escort agencies. Similar to "army of brides" they are best avoided
Good post and you've basically confirmed many of my suspicions.
If I was to spend several hours crafting a well written letter, I'd like for her to READ it. I suspect the agencies call the lady and read the letter to her rather than forwarding the actual letter.
If I received a letter from a young lady I was interested in, I would read it several times and would reply to her questions in my return letter. If a gal was receiving multiple letters from two or more guys similtaneously I would guess it would be difficult to keep facts straight.
If I wrote that 2 1/2 page leeter and received nothing more than generic responses, I'd be more than a little irked! I can't blame the girl in this case either; if they're reading the letter to her I can't necessarilly expect to memorize all the details.
I don't really want to get into the letter writing business either. After a long day at work and all the travel involved in my job, I don't really want to spend my evenings in correspondance. The (excessive) expense only adds to my desire to avoid letter writing.
I'm thinking of heading somewhere around/over the holidays trying to decide on an agency and strategy but I know I'm not going to write dozens of ladies before I depart.
Cossack, I looked at that girl’s profile and the only thing to be attracted to,,, are her photos!
Did you check for her on scammer watch sites?? Did you search for her on other dating websites? Did you do a google search for her name and email address??
Any website that charges that much for letters and photos is a scam without a doubt.
It’s been a while since I paid for letters, but I think it was AOB that started to charge for photos. The girls started to send photos and videos along with their intro letters, and every letter after. They also knew if you opened them or not. I remember one of the last girls asking me why I didn’t look at “All” of her photos??? I told her; I’m not going to pay for looking at photos that you have in your profile. She wasn’t sending new photos,,,, they were the same ones from her profile??!!
“Lonly ranger ... You should srart a buisness in America giving Australian tourist foot massage
For 2 dollars “
I think this is a very good idea for you!!! You’ll need to find a job in Russia that you are capable of doing with your level of education and intelligence!! Plus,,, with the way you worship anything and everything Russian,,, you can bow at their feet and wash them too.
If you act like you do on the forum, when you are in Russia,, they will probably shove their foot up your ass and make you lick it off.
I really hope you will move to Russia,,,,,, and just be yourself!!!
popsicle stick houses are what children build. You cant call that a real profession.
taking a stick with twine to the bathtub and calling it fishing is NOT really fishing.
How did Danny manage to get a girl to Duntstralia? I didnt think people getting welfare could do that.
Its getting REALLY hard trying to keep all of Danny's lies straight
