LR, if I am not mistaken, those are normal Ukrainian dishes. I took that same girl to a Japanese restaurant in Kiev. She loved sashimi, just like me. I was able to put lemon juice, soy sauce and hot mustard on it. The fish she served only had salt.
I wouldn't call it a date, but a few days ago, a girl called me to go shopping with her. For lunch, I suggested McDonald's. She doen't like McDonalds. We went to Wendy's. She paid.
When I take her out next week, I have a choice to take her to a Chinese buffet for $13 a plate where there are 25 different entrees including sashimi, crab legs, ribs and so forth or 2 or 3 entrees a piece at a formal Japanese restaurant for twice as much.
Dates are wife candidates. Those women who choose the Japanese restaurant are not for me.
I went to a McDonald's in a "third world country" many years ago. My relatives there said it "cost too much" to eat there. Given the low average wages in the country, I could understand that.
Guys, maybe you didn't understand me. McDonalds it's okay to eat there if you like the food, but a date??? really???? This morning i went to McDonalds to buy coffee to go, there were no free tables and huge lines, like 200 people in a small McDonalds, and you want your date in that crowd???? I don't know any Ukrainian guy who would concider a date in McDonalds. Well maybe if he's 15yo :)
Going to McDonald's is a simple matter. When you get married, who will be the boss? Will she insist on not going to places that you like? As dcguy says, it will cost too much for many Ukrainians to eat at McDonald's. Ukrainian women should be happy someone traveled to go see them and there is someone to take them places, consider marrying them and take them for places to eat and pay for it.
I can see why you guys (and I'm not only talking about rb) go there and fail. moyarishka is a Ukrainian lady and she is saying they do not want to be taken to McDonalds. Listen to her!!!
kaiserdag - mcd is not the only place with free wifi near Kyiv's main train station. As you exit the main doors, go forward and to your right there will be a large building which contains Celentano Pizza, Drova Bistro and Varenichnaya Katyusha where wifi is abundant and free. I like to sip a beer as I'm waiting for my train up at the top at Celentano Pizza which has an outdoor patio.
There used to be a cafeteria inside the train station with free wifi but it unfortunately was closed the last time I was there. There is also a VIP waiting room but I'm not sure if wifi is available there.
Good luck with your quest for free wifi around Kyiv's main train station! As I said I use Kyivstar which offers unlimited data on my smartphone so this is not an issue for me.
TomZ, you're not a success. You're not even married.
If there are other places to eat, fine. But if we go to places she likes all the time, then not fine. If she really doesn't like McDonald's food, fine. I find that hard to believe when they have a big menu. If she doesn't want want McDonald's because she is too good for that, then screw her.
I was never talking about going out and McDonalds is your only destination. But eating at McDonald's should not be is not the cause for failure as you have indicated. You know a lot about failure. You even make things up that never happened to me. It must have happened to you. You should look at yourself.
Nope. I haven't done that. I am just trying to put a finger on what it is that makes you the success to call yourself the expert. You have not defined success, yet you defined failure well. That is, what others are doing which you mostly made up.

Hahaha now i can see why you still single. Trying to find a girl who can't afford mcdonalds :))) good luck!

Last time i was in Kiev i opened Katyusha for myself. There are 6 restaurants in Kiev, one of them is right on Khreschatik. I was in two of them - i liked it very much. I'm sure it's not the last time i'll have breakfast or lunch there.
McDonals' guys, listen to me!!!! Ukrainian guys don't take their dates to McDonalds, you really think a girl will be okay with you take her to McDonalds? Okay go for it!
More lies. You make things up as they come along, don't you?
Like I was just trying to put a finger on what it is that makes you the success to call yourself the expert and repeatedly call others failures. You are no expert. Failures bring their dates to McDonalds? Those are your standards. I never claimed to be successful, called myself an expert nor repeatedly called anyone a failure.
That's it? You have a girlfriend and that makes you a success and others failures? As if others do not have one?
