At the “””OLD””” Rosia Hotel,, they had four entrances,,, hookers at all four, especially the south main entrance. The hotel had a little bar and café,, more like a snack bar with vodka, on each corner on all floors of the hotel. The hotel had at least 12 floors! Each night as the guys on the tour went to bed,,, you could hear the hookers walking down the hallway, knocking on everybody’s door. They would pay the attendants for the room numbers of the foreign men, and had paid the security guards to get in. Guys would go back down to the main bar to wait out the working girls. I ate out every night with my girl there, and on one occasion, at the restaurant in another hotel,,, it was the same story. They had sofas for the working girls,,, and each one would try and catch your eye as you walked past. My girl could squeeze a hand pretty hard! I’ve only stayed at two hotels in Kyiv, and guess what? Yes,,, working girls at both. One night while calling home on Yahoo voice, I was sitting in the lobby noticing all of the German tourists. All middle aged men. I told my father that the hotel was full of Germans,,,, and 5 guys glance over at me. I went on to say that I felt bad about not knowing much German, it should be my 2nd language, not my 4th. The following night,,, all of the Germans were down in the lobby again,, along with a half barrel of beer, which needed changing at least once. Some time after dusk,,, very pretty working girls would walk in, one at a time,,, about 5 to 10 minutes apart. They would walk in and take a guy by the hand,,, then head for the elevators. This went on for over two hours. The last guy, must have been 300 lbs + and could barely walk. The girl whispered something in his ear, followed by Da Da?? He burst out laughing with Yeah Yeah Yeah! The whole lobby burst out laughing with him. Prostitution is everywhere in Kyiv, and the rest of the FSU. It’s allowed in the hotels, and some even have their own bordellos. When you bend over to pick it up, another person comes from behind and picks your pocket. One way to avoid this if you feel obligated to pick up the wallet is to lower your entire body down as you go to pick up the wallet and not to just lean over. In this case, the police are in on this scam. This does not happen in the USA. But elsewhere, where the security officials are corrupt, that scenario could happen.
