Everything has a time and a place. Visa first...then wait...and keep waiting until you get it. However, there's no reason why you can't check availability and prices of flights/hotels etc whilst waiting in case of potential future difficulties. Of course, you could get your tickets on the basis of having everything in place by that date but I would consider what refund policy exists in respect of potential delays, cancellation or changing of dates. Given how tight (messed up) this is, having said all that, I would probably get the tickets but you would still have approx. 2 weeks to confirm the booking after the arrival of the visa. Its Highly unlikely that you wil be denied a visa, unless you have been a Very naughty boy in the past. So pretty much, as long as you have your invite doc`, you fill out the form correctly, and dont submit a photo of Michael Mouse, you will get your visa. Certainly check flight availability early !! The flights going out are not alwasy busy, but the ones coming back are often full !!! You can get refused a flight, not becaue your departure date is full, but because your return date is, but they wont always say thats why the cant take you that day !! You just get "sorry there are no flights available for your chosen date and destination" Crash: if you ahve time to wait, then by all means wait until you have your visa, but as I have said already, check availability now, if it looks like they may fill up then make a reservation and pay a small deposit now. Once you have done it a few dozen times its like buying a ticket for a bus :o)) And the flights become as rountine as driving to work !!! Was going to marry my girl there, but the mother objected.... my girl said it didn't matter, but since we were going to live there, I knew it would and did... she ultimately broke the engagement... I've put all my eggs in one basket with one woman in Omsk and I have no plan B... I am getting it together to go there this summer... The thing I learned from the above... I want to know what her family thinks.. because it matters... to everyone... Come on guys... pick the woman who feels right after a number of letters and go for it...so what if doens't work out... what's working now? You'll just be back where you started... you'll gain from the experience... I know I did with my lady in France.... and that was a hard decision... we both agreed in the end it was the right one...really tough, though... I really loved her.... Maybe my heart will get broken again... but i wont know if I don't go... What do others think? I don't think I'm nuts at all....actually being very pragmatic.... If you go visit one sure there is a risk, but if you like her and she is genuine, at least you go with a clear heart, clean passport, ( without multiple visa's )if she is serious about you she will see it as a clear sign of commitment only visiting her, could be the way to start a relationship the way you mean it to go on. Only advice I can offer is try to get to know her as well as possible thru letters, phone calls, talk to her on MSN or Messenger with webcam if you can, if you are only visiting one, try to cover all your bases. You could do trips there to meet 20 women, the one for you could be the first you meet or the 20th, best of luck anyway.
