Tim summed it up right when he said that you will make a tit of yourself with certaintly within the first 24 hours when you visit Eastern Europe. What to talk about in your letters? Your hopes and dreams. What you are looking for and who you are (life style etc.) They want to be sure that you are "serious" (I hear that a lot). And that you want more than just an eternal penpal. They are NOT just anxious to leave their country - but to find the right man under the right conditions they will consider it.
