ID have not met yet, true. Have talked 1 to three times daily on the phone for 3 months, and written a lot - so we are learning about each other and have a good conversational understanding, and heart felt emotion (with a dollop of raging hormones). Having worked with people of every sort for 25 years, have a decent working knowledge of human nature. Iv'e absorbed like a sponge all the advice and experience of others here and other places. But obviously we will not 'know' each other until we spend time together. But what the hell, we have a great beginning, and I will give it my all. It is a huge sacrifice (not speaking in money terms here) and a definate calculated risk for me to making my trip to visit Lucy. And I have been careful to frequently quality my thoughts and affections towards her by stating that only in person will I truly know her, and then we will know what future we may have together. Who knows I amy meet her and hate her - she may hate me upon meeting me. But I realize that a 10 day visit by itself is not enough time to cover all the ground in order to make a wise decesion about our future. So we are trying to cover as much ground as we can ahead of time trying to be as practical and rational as possible. We discuss everything. And yes we are allowing our affections for each other to grow along with our understanding of each other. It it does not work out it will not be for lack of effort and kindness. And it is amazing that during 4 + months of communication we have never had even a slight disagreement. (Occasionaly we have shared dissapointments and concerns though). Besides if it fails, it will not be as traumatic as when the x-swine took up with another man and left me with five kids. (I am glad she left the kids).
