Other than the unavoidable sense of failure, my divorce to my ex wife did not run a number on me, my houses or assets. 1. I got primary custody of my kids who I raised alone for over 10 years as a single parent. 2. Neither of us had any assets to be pillaged from each other at the time of the divorce. 3. The house was sold and we both got equal shares of the equity. Go join the "sissy, whinning, I get offended whenever Toad says anything outrageous" club. They are the exception to the rule, which BTW, only serves to prove the rule. Finding them and winning them has become the proverbial 'needle in the haystack'. That's why 10,000s of US men look for, find, fall in love, marry and bring home foreign brides. So the natural evolution of marriage in the west will invariably place the foreign bride as the 'franchise player', but at a much much more attainable level for most average men than her western counterpart. This sort of "discussion" only degrades the purpose of the forum, so on my part I will do my best to refrain from comments that may be perceived as offensive. Talking about intolerance, a while ago I made a statement about socials not knowing I was touching someone's red hot button. Then that someone felt he had to call me ignorant and cheap (?) and the rest is on public display. Well, perhaps I should be sensitive to the fact that someone may have found a would-be wife in a social and may associate a comment about socials in general as a direct insult to his lady. But, it works much better to come out and say "I find offensive what you said about socials because so and so", give mutual explanations and finish it there rather than "your ignorant and cheap, you want me to give you five bucks". But, he handled it very well without conflicts, he was firm about what he wanted and why and was able to stick his own point on the wall as well. He explained why he believed socials are a great way to meet people and I believe he had some good points that most of us who have not been to the socials could not argue and the discussion finished right there. That could be an example to follow, to use logical arguments to present a different point of view. jetmba. And we are approaching a year and a half since I actually went (and had " the time of my life".) A lot of people may not realize that you actually are an oldtimer (no offense of course meant by the comment) on this forum - already established when I started writing two years ago. I wish I could claim that I have always use logical arguments and have a proud history of never name-calling - but I've resorted to an occasional cheap shot in times of anger as well in the past. I'd like to see a little more civility here in the forum - again recognizing that our only common interest IS Russian women. We can argue till the cows come home on politics etc. and we will not agree. Why would we? There are other forums for those topics and they run the gamut. Juat a note to anyone who is interested - if you have someone that you AREN'T specifically interested in bringing over on a fiance-visa or a tourist visa. The "Green Card Lottery" which provides 50,000 immigrant visa's to lucky recipients from anywhere in the world to come to the US with a green card is in its final days of application. Some 3.5 million people applied for it last year. So with 50,000 available spots of course the odds are not good. But if there is anyone you would like to help apply - the web page is avaiable - all apllications have to be via the internet and a .jpg photo is needed (240x360, 300x300 or 360x240). She was very highly educated, sweet, and sincere. Unfortunately, it was my first experience with a Russian woman and she wanted our relationship to move so fast my red flags went up. I also had some issues I had to work out myself. However if she was any sample of what I can expect from FSU ladies. I'm not looking anywhere else. Perhaps someone should mention the lottery to fiance.com and they can tell all the ladies how to apply? I'm new here but I think your correct about all the name calling. We want our ladies to treat us with respect, but we can't even treat each other with respect.
