I am hispanic and romanctic in nature, love to travel, have visited over 38 countries, the ladies in Ukraine are beautiful and so are the one Italians and Spanish and Brazilians, but the Ukraine and Russians are approchable. I am on the search, not shame I feel, I wish to get a lovely one, what else could this old bear wish more than a soft lady, whith angelical smile to give you a kiss when you leave the house and another when you come back, who love to pack and willing to travel. I wish luck to everyone, and I will take my chance. If it works great, if it does not great. I am in love with life, just do no accept a bad action, I do not argue just walk away from it. I still believe there is an interest of one side and an interest in the other side, both need to meet in the middle, if she only cares about money or he only about sex/look will not last. Wow, I am really stunned b'cos I thought it was only the men who were viciously emotionally/mentally abusive (this is what many Russian women like to claim). Well, I married one of these beastly men. Been together for a little more than a decade. I am a shell-shocked, nervous, twitching shell of who I once was. If you really want to know misery, marry a Russian. I am sorry to paint with such a broad brush, and it could well be that the cultures clash more than we want to admit, but my experience is all too common. These beautiful, exotic creatures are perfect for flings, mad passions, but NOT NOT NOT NOT life partners. It is not true that all Russian men are alcoholics. Many are sober, hard workers; wildly handsome, courtly and charming. Very close but not quite sociopaths. I don't know what others here may have discovered, but it appears not to be just Russian types. I have a cousin married to an Iranian, another to a Honduran, and friends married to Moroccan and Iraqi, and others married to Russian men. They all share a similar fate to my own. I sadly conclude (though am aware there must be exceptions) that it is a culture clash. I don't think these people are necessarily "bad," they just don't "get" us, and we don't get "them." OM Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 11/20/2007 8:15:05 AM   I recently travel to Ukraine and to Russia, as a tourist before I decided to get into a FSU I found the Russian ladies less open but somehow a bit more sincere, I was only in ST Pett. Moscow, Samara Saratov and Sochi. In Ukraine I visited Crimea, Kiev and Odessa, the ladies were very friendly. We were six and they were so lovely and open that I decided to pursue a search for one. We were a group of six from late 30's to mid 40's and the ladies in the 20's. But now after looking for a lady I am discourage I believe they have a great interest in the wealth, come to US and like many of them divorce here, get some money a green card and marry again. In the other hand, they are so temperamental and I am so mellow, I do not have to put up with it. Unfurtunately, not many ladies on the late 20's and mid 30's which maybe more predictable and even less in the mid's 30's. I think a 10 years gap can be manage but more than that is difficult for both, specially in my social group, we are all about the same age and with daughters in the early 20's. I also believe that the Russian and Ukrainian men are spoiled with so many hot ladies than they do not have to worry they go to a bar and can pick a beautiful lady every week. But it is almost like you empty your brain and wipe it clean before you read and reply to each thread. In a 24 hour period your posts are from "this is the most wonderful woman in the world" to "Wow I have been had and am never going back". OM there is good advice on this forum and also not so good. You have to decide what you believe and weigh each of the posts on this forum to that. There are good women in the FSU and you seem to have the means to explore this. Get the best advice you can find and learn what the rules are. Then decide what you want and will accept. Listen to what others say but weigh it against what you know. When you start into an endeavor like this you need to have a direction in your mind and not change your complete plan every 15 minutes unless you just want to be led around like a puppy dog for the rest of your life. You know in your heart that this trip was a success. You received more value in happiness and enjoyment than you felt pain in spending money. Now you question the motives of the person you were with. For those purposes it does not make any differences whether she was a gold digger or little Bo Peep. You spent money and you got value. And now you have experienced the characteristics of these women no matter what the motives and you can make an intelligent decision on whether it is worth pursuing with her or a woman with more pure motives. I am sure you can see the picture more clear than me, I am some how cooling off, and now the passion is over and the brain will take over. She is adorable and great but does not sound too geniune. I called her twice and now she plays fool to me. She tells me is trying to get her English lessons but not enough cash. Her gradmother got sick and needed the money I gave her. If you ask me, I would not mind taking her for another vacation, I know she is just a player, she is hot ladie, maybe I should be just more mature and understand the lady needs and my goals, she could be a great traveling companion, a beautiful smile to wake up after a nice ride. In anyevent I am happy with the trip, should I try again, I am not sure. I believe many ladies, do want to have fun, have vacations that they can not afford other way. I am not going ramble on in details here about it. They cant help it, its genetic programming for an "alpha" female to ensure that her potential mate is an alpha male i.e. someone who doesn't take any shit from anyone. If you don't stand up to them they will just keep "shit testing" you like this until they drive you away, they probably don't even realise why their doing it themselves. Of course take a woman into an environment where shes even more alpha because of her comparatively good education work ethic and attractiveness and things can only get worse ... But agree with what you say about needing to stand up for oneself. I made a post some months ago after it was explained to me by a Ukrainian lady that it is a Ukrainian way to attempt to make a man submissive but as soon as he may become submissive, i.e. yes dear, no dear, three bags full dear, she would lose interest in him and move on to another guy until she found one that was capable of standing up for himself.
