The first one wanted marriage as if it was a contract. At least she was honest. The second one was willing to give me a son in exchange for citizenship but planned to divorce me and bring her real boyfriend to America after 5 years. I paid a man to check her out and she had a boyfriend who se spent all of her time with after I was gone. She later admitted to me wha her plan was but not until she was sure I was not going t believe all of her lies. It takes 5 years for their citizenship to become perminent and she knew that. In fact she metioned it to me whenI was there which is why I checked her out more closely after I left. She slept with me and I was her first but that didn't really mean anything to her. I had a electrician that worked for me and he was from Ukraine. His wife, which by the way he plans to divorce in 3 more years (it will 5 years of marriage) married an American, gave him a child and divorced him after 5 years to bring what she thought was her true love to America. She thought she was clever and many Russians think deciet is a sign of being clever. They did have the world's best spies you know. The electrician already has a girlfriend who has been to the jobsite to have lunch with him several times. None of us have ever actually seen his wife. He says she complains to much and is not at all the way she was when she left Russia. I think, She changed from the little girl that left Russia into a woman with a mind of her own. He is still the typical Russian man who does not respect women and lies if it suits him. Not many people like him because he is not to be trusted and he is not a very good worker either. Watch yourselves boys if she is to good to be true it is for a good reason. She is not true!!!! MY EX-WIFE!!!!! There is one statement in it with which I agree completely, though. (Even if she uses it to imply men intentionally refuse its merits) "Love must be earned". Period. There are no two ways about it. But what the author (my ex-wife) fails to mention or appreciate is that love of any kind, must be earned every minute of every hour of every day we expect to be loved in return. I grew up in a third world country where married people still 'strut' their social marital status. Because being married implies you are willing, able and committed to do the work within the agreed family roles to build a productive, loving and prosperous family environment within which your loved ones can thrive. While single, independent people are not. She (the author) belittles the fundamental importance and effect that stay-at-home moms have on the welfare of their families. We are led to believe by her callous remarks that only women with careers outside the home are worthy of appreciation and praise. And that there is no value in the roles of those women who successfully manage a family household and its many variable aspects.....Such resentful nonsense!!!! In short, or not so short, reading that article gave me a higher level of resolve to keep searching for my future wife among the russian speaking countries of Europe. One of the qualities most commonly seen among the men who seek foreign brides is COURAGE. It takes a lot of courage these days to stand up to the male emasculating matriarchy our beloved USA has become in the last few decades and say: "Thanks, american women but no thanks...I have a different idea of what the roles for a successful marriage ought to be" The proof is in the pudding....regardless of the potential for failure a foreign-bride marriage may face, it cannot be any worse than the dismal +80% that second marriages suffer in the US.
