If you have know her for some weeks , i.e. been with her, living together or holidaying together then that is different. If she brings you into a shop and asks for you to pay for something during the first week of being with her then do not buy it. When you departing from home and she has behaved well, i.e. no scams or ask for gifts or expensive taxis or expensive intepreter fiends etc, then you could consider buying her a gift of your choice (not her's). Best advice, get to know her. Go to visit her on a 2nd or 3rd trip before deciding about her and if all is well then a nice gift, but you must ask her what committment she is prepared to make? If she claims not to understand what that word means (with translation or not) then she is lieing. I have had that situation several times. It is a very convenient situation for them, i.e. I do not understand what you mean etc etc. She has to make a commitment for you to pursue her any further. If not then she is a typical scammer. i.e. scammers do not alreays reveal themselves in first days or weeks. return trip will fulse her out. i have had ladies whom i have known for weeks and start asking for money to allow her to study english or other, yet not welling to say how she feels about me or make any committment to come visit me or take things to the physical stage. You get 5 or 6 small bottles of famous European perfume for like $60. WHen you get to Kiev, you break them up and VIOLA! you have European perfumes for as many women as you care to meet all for less than a cab ride across town each! Shopping? Only for lingere. Gifts? hell yea I got em! If you wish to be really slick, bring some nice wrapping paper from home and wrap them when you get there. Act like that and dont forget your "other " wrappers!
