I had a chance to go in 2010 but that was one of the times I elected to go to just two Socials, Kherson and Nikolaev instead. I don't recall ever running into a man I knew for sure was a Muslim. Rarely an Arab - but in all the Socials I have done I have met maybe two Arabs. But something has to be said about the other men. You get all kinds of course. 70 year old retirees who are looking for 18 year old girls. They go on dates - I saw pictures of one 70 year old going down a slide at a waterpark with an 18 year old. Sure they went shopping eventually. He was wealthy enough he could afford it. He never got very far with her - but he was in 7th heaven to be able to say he dated an 18 year old. When he left he said he had the time of his life. Classic win/win for he and the girl. You get your young studs - guys 35 and younger - usually IT people - often they are just trying to score. But often they are quite serious about actually finding a wife. Fortunately there are so many women that these guys simply can't get all of them. I am happy to go for what is left. There are evangelicals - who are trying to convert girls to the Gospel. I consider them to mostly amusing. You get your angry guys. They are cautiously optomistic at the start. But if a girl doesn't seem to be legimate or stands them up for a date, all hey do is contunally complain. You don't want to eat breakfast with these guys. But mostly one of the most fun things is to eat breakfast with the guys after a Romance Social - peple with all different backgrounds and from all different places are sitting in a strange foreign country having just experienced one of the most incredible events of their lives. And they want to TALK about it. And they are all staying at a breakfast included hotel so they can. I was staying at a different hotel this time (all booked) but I acually went over and paid for breakfast just to eat with the other guys on occassion. People who do this are typically well off, intelligent, often entreprenuers, and much more adventurous than typical guys are. And all the social barriers fall. People who might never talk to each other are suddenly doing that. Soon we are all friends and looking out for each other. Giving advice on where to go (the place you went last night?) comparing notes. Its great. The whole experience is great. When I eventually DO get married I will miss these things. I suppose it is just a case of sorting the wheat from the chaff at the socials. It certainly sounds better than traveling to the Phillipines to get a woman- the Phillipines is really the last throw of the dice for desperate single men. One quickly expected me to fix everything that was wrong in her apartment and I needed to remember to take out trash in the morning and cleanup after dinner unless I cooked or I would hear about it. My current 22 year old "interest" of a couple years always comes to stay with me and we have a good system that naturally works without mentioning the responsibility of each. I always am sure to give myself some time to date others as I know she isnt "the one" but until this trip I havent really been concerned with meeting anyone new as everything with her is good. We simply know its not forever. I can say that more girls than I expected from fiance are not what I expected. Ive already met the "professional dater" and the "buy me this and this girl". Cant say Im disappointed at all because I didn't expect much to start with. Any agency is a crap shoot and any girl you meet anywhere else for that matter. You can quickly discover the bad ones and with the good ones its no different than America, its simply takes time to know if they are "the one" My simple advice is still dont be unrealistic and dont expect to find "her" on your first trip or even your 5th. Just enjoy being in a different place with a different culture, traditions and lifestyle. At the end of the day? Its what YOU make of it. jetmba. I would never plan a trip with a girl unless I knew she was absolutely excited to go. I have taken one lady to Turkey and another to Bulgaria - but both trips were actually booked through local agents after I got to Ukraine (or Moldova). The trip to Turkey was a hoot. I gave her certain parameters and allowed her to make some decisions concerning where we would stay. This woman spent TWO DAYS looking at books, and the computer screen while I sat next to her bored out of my mind, before she selected something she really liked - she looked at every option in so much detail. Then when we got to Alanya Turkey - we were informed that the hotel was completely booked and there was no room for us. I was furious of course and they offered us another room in another property sight unseen for the entire period, or to put us up temporarily nearby and have us check into the hotel we had booked two days later. While riding in the elevator - a janitor who heard the whole argument I had with management waitied for the doors to close and then said "Take the other place! Its much nicer!" So I acted on the advice of a janitor in an elevator - something I am generally not prone to do - and took the other place. It was incredible. MUCH nicer than the place we had actually paid for. It was my first trip of the computer error(a),,,,, to Tver’, Russia. Because of the visa and the extra hassle of making reservations, I let them handle all of it. I paid them about 2 weeks in advance,,,, and lost contact with the girl until the night before I was to leave. She had always been on time with her letters,, and we talked about everything,,, she was very open with me?(lol)?!! I did a little snooping while waiting for her letters,,, and I found a story on here about “Behappy2D.com and Onewife” ,,, about how men pay for everything and the girls disappear??? Well,, this one showed up, but only for one supper. She was more interested in talking with the interpreter than me. After the supper, I asked for her phone number? Through the interp, she said why,,,,,, I don’t speak any English?! In her profile and letters,, she was supposed to be almost fluent. I was also supposed to be the only foreign man she was going to meet?? During the conversation,, I learned about 2 vacations with foreign men to Crimea,,,, and she spoke very fondly of that time. I didn’t see her again,,, and for the next few days in Tver’’’ the agency almost bombarded me with women.. After leaving that restaurant, I wanted to pick up a few more groceries,,,, I didn’t like most of what I had brought home the first night. I did my shopping, and we took the taxi back to the flat,,, I got out and walked towards the door,,,,, the taxi slowly drove off. I went to the door,,,,,,, and couldn’t open it! I tried the combination several times,,, it would not open. I ran towards the taxi calling to them,,, but they did not hear me. Tver’ is 3-4 hours north of Moscow,,,, it’s the middle of January… I’m wearing blue jeans and an unlined leather jacket,, no cap, no gloves,,, carrying two bags of groceries. It’s like 9 to 10:00pm! I’m thinking,,, maybe I’m at the wrong door?? I look around,,, every building looks the same,,,, block after block,,, all of the same design. The only thing for me to remember,,, is that the arch by the driveway entrance is cracked,,,,, that’s it. I circle the block again,,, and tried the door again,,, then decided to head in one direction,,,, looking for a taxi? I was out for two hours before I found one,,, good thing is was only 20F. I found a taxi driver that didn’t know the word “Hotel” in English,,, I even wrote it on paper. He drove around for about an hour,,, mostly in circles,, then called someone and drove down a dark alley to where a garage door opened and 4 guys walk out! Oh,,,, shxt! Turns out,, it was other taxi drivers,,,, none spoke English, but one spoke French and could read the name of a hotel… something like; Onsnabruk?? It was a hotel built by a German,,, just like one in his hometown?? About an hour later we arrive,, each driver got 1,000Rubles It turns out,, that I was only 3 blocks away??!! I walk into the hotel,,, and they look at me like I was insane,,, carrying 2 bags of groceries!! I ask them for a room,,,,, and explain what had happened. They only had one room available,,, the Presidential Suite,,,, 159USD,, but in rubles. I’ll take it? A big and freicken weird room,,, and about 30C!! I didn’t sleep until real late,,, or early,,, just enough to miss breakfast. But I did have 2 bags of groceries. At that point,,, I was up for 96 hours,, on only 6 to 8 hours of sleep. I didn’t sleep at all in the flat,,, the room was too hot with no thermostat,,,, I couldn’t open the window because of the pollution. It was the worst air I have ever breathed!! It burned my throat, and made my eyes water! After the trip, I considered myself lucky that the girl didn’t show up again,, and that things didn’t work. The next day,, a 3rd interp came for me at the hotel,, and we walked to their agency headquarters. I waited for several hours for the 1st one,, then went back to the apartment,, on foot! As it turns out,,,, I was at the right door,, I had the right combination too,,,, but that didn’t open the door?! It was a little metal charm on the key chain!! It must have been magnetized, you put it near a slot and the door opened?? It was dark when we first arrived,,, I heard her talk about the combination if people visit,,, and the key was for the door upstairs. That is the only door I have ever seen open like that. I was supposed to have a cell phone from them,,, I paid for it!! The flat didn’t even have a land line?? I have yet to see a girl’s apartment!!? That should be one of the first signs of fondness?! About 6 weeks ago now,, that one “problem” ex of mine had called in the middle of the day here. She needed to see me as soon as possible? I told her I’d think about it!! “You’ll think about it???!!!!,,, You’ll think about it?????” and then she laughed,,, telling me about all that we had been through together,,, and that I’d think about it! Yeah,, I’ll think about it! How long has it been since you wrote to me?? I’ve been more than nice to you,,, and I get to sit here and wait??!! She promised me, if I came to her, that I would get to see her flat, meet her friends, see what or where she works,,,,,, and something about passionate nights??? (the cell phone worked like shxt that day) I said perhaps in November? Well,,, perhaps January now. It was my idea to go,,,,, somewhere?? I want to get her away from her work,,, so I don’t just get her spare time. I mentioned that I would like a warm beach somewhere,,, but where?? Seychelles, Maldives, Cuba, Mexico, and Thailand are places I believe we can both go without a visa?? I won’t go anywhere in the Middle East,,, no way- no how!! If we both don’t go somewhere abroad,, I have to take her somewhere away from work. It’s winter time,,, I don’t ski and I would rather not have her doing it alone,,,, or hopefully alone if you know what I mean? Is there anything to see in Crimea during the winter time?? About carrying the groceries in front of the girls,,, I always carry their packages. One time, the girl in Sumy, the one I made the trip for, went shopping with me and the interp. She wanted to buy personal items at the store next to EKO market,, I said; no problem! About an hour later,,,, I had two baskets full of shampoo, cosmetics, hair color,,, (she’s a different shade of brown I guess lol ) hand creams,,, etc, etc, etc,,, but no tampons, napkins, condoms, or KY?? Lol I don’t remember what the cost was,, but it wasn’t that much. They were common and practical items,,, I was okay with it. It filled 2 medium to large shopping bags,,, I’m thinking about 30 to 40 lbs each!! I carry both bags of course,,, and when we walked outside,, we got a real surprise,,,, sleet and freezing rain!! Everything was coated in ice!! We headed for a little café behind the McDonald’s,,, straight out from the EKO market,, about 100 meters away. They offered to help with the bags several times,,, but I said it was okay,, I need both bags for balance! I told them,,,, as for all of the guys who come over here,,, I am perhaps the best one for this job!!! I explained it to them,,, about my work. I don’t think I looked like an old man to them that night?!! However,,, when going to meet them, I’ll be on foot,,, and usually in a hurry! The jacket I had that year was too warm! I was okay with it outside,,, 0C, but when we walk into a store or restaurant,,, I’ll start sweating immediately. I’ve learned to hurry so not to be late,,, but then to coast for the last few minutes to cool off!! The one good one, is talking with a guy on a plane going,,,, somewhere over there,,, and we were talking about Ukrainian girls. He traveled a lot and had been to many places over in the FSU. I think he was married or engaged. He planned to write a book about the dating from a personal perspective and from a political. He was an political science professor! My bad experiences, are the men and the way they behave with the girls. This last Jan, I rode in an elevator with a man from somewhere in the Middle East. He kept talking about the Ukrainian girls,,, so sexy, pretty, friendly, eager to please,,, and so many of them,,, they are so wonderful,, I have several coming over tonight!!! He’s asking me, if I am there for the same reasons? I don’t remember if I said; yes or no,,, but I told him that I had a girl there! I wasn’t in the mood that day and he was just a few words away from being popped! Another issue,,, are the party photos I find on VK. I’ve been,,,,,,,, monitoring,,,, certain friends of friends over there, and what I see I don’t like! This one girl throws parties every week, and always invites a handful of friends. They take a few photos in the beginning of the night,,, when everyone is still upright,,, and the place is still nice and neat. And a few photos later on after the guys arrive,,, the place trashed, bottles all over,, guys hanging all over the girls. She seems to post these photos as advertisements???! I just remembered another story from 2009, I only shared it with one girl over there,,, and she didn’t want to hear anymore,,,, too graphic!! When I had the problems with my tooth, I had a lot of time to kill,,, and couldn’t go anywhere. The internet cost a couple of bucks an hour,,, so I limited my online time. They did have cable or satellite TV,,,,, 1,500 channels,, not all of them being used though. With all of those channels,, I never did find the BBC, just an Korean station giving international news in English. While searching through all of the stations, I found many movies from the west,,,, all in Russian. But what they did have a lot of,,,, were advertisements for webcams and/or 900 numbers!! Most were in Arabic, playing the same music on every channel. The women were 99% European and very pretty! Do we need to think about where they came from?? The 1% were Arab women,,, and NOT pretty. I have a theory,, that they are women nobody wanted?? One channel caught my eye,,, a young girl, I’d be shocked if she was over 20,,, laying on a white bed,,, with a white pillow,, in a white room! No doors or windows. Just her on a bed,,, playing with herself using a toy, batteries unknown,,, no audio! I’m watching this thinking;,,, whoa,,, she must be mad at it??! She going about 50 miles an hour,, back and forth,,,, in and out!! I watch for about 5 minutes and she’s not slowing down?! She hasn’t moved at all,,,, except for that right wrist! She laying with her left arm under the pillow behind her,, it looks awfully uncomfortable!! Why hasn’t she switched hands?? I move on to search other channels which takes a lot of time,,, the programs load very slow. I must have went through 400 to 500 channels in at least a 45 to 60 minute period. I changed positions on the bed several times,,, and my wrist is getting sore from the remote?!! I’m not finding anything worth watching,,, so,,, I go back and try to find that same station?! I found it,, and the girl is still there,,, still going about 50 miles an hour!! Now,, you could be thinking that it is a loop,,, playing over and over??? No,, no it is not. Sweat is running off of the girl,, the sheets are soaked. She’s red in the face, neck, chest,, and you know where else!! I’m thinking,,, how much is she being paid to do this to herself??? Then I notice the left arm,,,, it’s still behind her under the pillow!! It didn’t take me too long to realize that her arm is tied or chained under that pillow! The girl didn’t move an inch during that whole time. I’ve thought about that many times,, and have come to the conclusion, that’s it’s not possible,, not under normal circumstances. I’m in good shape,, but I wouldn’t have the energy to do what she did,,, in fact,, my arm would cramp up long before. Was she hooked up to an IV?? I turned the TV off, and left it off for days. I didn’t go back to that channel. I remember sitting in my room thinking;,,,,,, what the hell kind of place am I in?? Years ago,, we would hear on the national news, about girls that had been abducted. It would be several times each year on the news,,, probably a lot that didn’t make the news. I wonder if they found a way that makes getting women easier?! jetmba. A-H,, what I do with that one girl,, is something I would only do for her. I do it because I want to. I don’t put up with as much from the other girls. The relations I have with her you would not understand,, that’s why I don’t give the very personal details,, it’s a waste of time trying to explain it to the likes of you. A lot of the money I have spent is from airfare and hotels, if I went to Florida I would be spending about the same amount,,, so what’s the big deal? I do spend a lot of time searching for some of the women I have wrote to before,,, for most it’s not to get them back,, it’s to know that they are okay. And even in the summer - they can't stand airconditioning being too cold. And 80 degrees (F) is too cold for them. When I brought my Moldovan girl over to the US, it was a blistering hot summer. Fortunately of course place and everywhere else we went has airconditioning and she hated it, she was always asking me to turn it down. The Ukrainian was the same way. And have you ever noticed that when it is even just a little cold - al the men and women seem to be wearing their heaviest winter coats? Unreal, it seems. Obviously one reason for this behavior (I mean the winter coats) is that they are outside all the time as most do not own cars. Whereas we are used to popping into our cars, from warm buildings - I often don't wear a serious winter coat until there is practically snow on the ground in the US. Also - its amazing how many people over there actually think that one catches a cold by BEING cold. I remember having a serious discussion with my Moldovan about VIRUSES and how these little things cause actual cold symptoms. I explained that if you were on a small boat on the ocean - removed from everyone else, after some incubation period (in case you had already picked up the virus from someone else) no matter how cold you got - you would never develop the symptoms of a cold. She would have none of it. Getting cold gives you a cold, according to her. PERIOD. About colds....going into and out of extreme temps can get you sick as your body tries to adjust to the change in temps. When I went to NY JFK in 1999 to pick up my Iren, it was one of the hottest summers. It hit 105F!! Cars in parking lots sunk into the asphalt and ripped out a patch of it when they pulled away. I drove from Green Bay to Rockaway, NJ non stop! Well,, I stopped to eat, xxxx, and fill up with gas. She came several weeks too early for me,, the house wasn’t ready after being remodeled,,,, didn’t even have a bed setup. We arrive home and I’m baling hay the next day and working in the house at night. I was intending to set up the water bed?? This was a completely new concept for her. I put the bed together and filled it up on about the 4th or 5th night. The heating pad or element didn’t work. It was perfect for me,, but Iren got up in the night and put blankets down on her side,,,,, then towels,,,, and was still cold?! She actually slept on top of me one night!! Lol It was very warm in the bedroom,, being on the south side of the house. The air conditioner was in the living room,,, so I kept the door open. She would shut the AC off and close the door on me?? I would turn the AC back on and open the door. Yeah,,, she then shut it off again. I found something outside to do. She would walk around the house in shorts and a sports top on. Later on, I saw a tube top in a store,,,, one size fits all?? Yes,,, it did, barely. She could bend over once,,, maybe twice, but never three times!! Lol Ploop, she would,,, “fall out”! The same thing happened when she wore her very old fashioned bikini. We were in Daytona Beach,, she’s walking around on the beach picking up seashells,,,, with her boobs hanging out half of the time! This was before You Tube! The winter that year was also very mild, Ira would say to me how mild our winters are and how harsh their’s are. I told her that it was a very unusual winter. Mother nature did this just for you!! I like to sleep in a cool bedroom, 55F is okay with me, but I think 75F would be too cold for these girls,,, I know so! When I’m in Ukraine, the very first thing the girl or interpreter does is zip up my jacket or turn up my collar. “Don’t you have a hat????” They live and work in warm buildings,,, they are not used to cold weather. To me it’s not healthy to live in such a warm place. One reason for this could be because they heat with steam?? I have seen in several cites where they have the big steam lines through out the city. Is their heat free??? If so,,,, why not have a sauna? I think it was last year in Kiev,, I’m standing outside of a grocery store with my problem-some ex,,, holding 2 or 3 bags of stuff,,,, not all food,,, waiting for a particular taxi,,, and a light rain is coming down. I looked her in the eyes and said;,, You know,, this isn’t the way we do it back home!! We would be coming out of the store with a cart twice as big as the ones here,, full of groceries,,, walk out to our car without worrying about stepping into a mud puddle,,,, load all of it into the back of the Jeep, and drive home?!!! And at home,,, I have a large freezer Full of Angus steaks and hamburger! Her eyes lit up!! She liked the sound of that. I said the only thing that would be missing,,, is that Russian people or women,, are used to going to the market almost everyday,,, picking up fresh vegetables. At home,, we either grow them in the summertime and/or buy some of them frozen. No,,, you don’t catch a cold from being cold,,, but if your body is trying to compensate for the lost body heat, you are using a lot of energy and your body will become weakened,,, lowering your ability to fight off germs and viruses. Stress will also lower your bodies immune system. Have you noticed how many of us go over there,,, just to spend half of the time sick??? During my last trip,,,, I have never in my life heard so many people coughing?!! Everybody had it in the throat and chest,,,, hacking away. I always take a small pharmacy along with me,,,, came in VERY handy this time. jetmba. Its called булъвар ресторан, or Bulvar Restaurant. it has a bar downstairs with karaoke and dj there are many right along the main road as well. Japanese, Italian, Ukrainian, Greek. Yes 7th Heaven.
