This whole business of women visiting the USA on a tourist visa is a bit of a mystery. Although the consensus of opinion is that if they are a young attractive woman with no ties they cannot obtain a visa there are enough cases that I am running across to cast a shadow on this idea. For a Brit years ago you needed a permanent visa stamped in your passport which was good for life. It was even transferable between passports you just kept the old one. Then when you entered the USA you automatically got a second visa which dictated how long you could actually stay for that one particular visit. For Brits it was ALWAYS 6 months because Britain is the 51st state. However it was not the same for other European countries. For example for my French friends it was a 1 year multiple entry visa and a shorter time for each visit. Brits definitely got preferential treatment. Now the rules changed. For Brits no permanent visa is necessary and they automatically get 3 months.
With time off for good behavior.
Marina was bouncing in and out of the USA during 2002 and 2003. She had a multiple entry visa for 1 year and then would stay for about 2 months at a time. That was with her daughter. So obtaining a tourist visa is possible. Despite whatever is said here.
There are some caveats. If you are thinking of bringing a woman in on a tourist visa and then marrying her forget it. EXTREMELY DODGY!!!
You will end up with a wife that you don't sleep with. Atlantic Ocean stopped play. If the INS (or whatever they are called nowadays) gets wind that you knew her before you married her on a tourist visa it will be bye bye. No introduce her to your home and state and then send her back. Then get a K1 and do it properly.
I would like to bring a woman over to visit me but if I do I will have to trust her enough to forward her a decent sum of money. Then she will come in on a tourist visa and not mention a word about me. Then I will meet up with her. It is possible to run rings around the INS if you play your cards right. I know I have done it. How do you think I am here:)) However she will need enough real money or flash money to get through immigration. She must have enough money to substantiate an expensive visit to the USA on vacation.
If you don't have enough money here is a dodge that works I know because I have done it. Buy a thousand dollars worth of travelers checks. Then report them lost. They will be replaced with new ones. Now you have $2,000 of checks. Now Mr. Immigration man is happy. You have the funds. Naturally it goes without saying that you never spend the old checks.
This is for TimH (if your still around!) RE: msg of 05.04.2004
Music to my ears!!!! I am currently writing to a lady in Lugansk who I met thru a FREE dating site. After 4 letters I get one from an interpereter who says she works for an agency called Alina's Friends, telling me that my lady does not speak english and that it will cost me to keep writing to her. I didn't like that one bit!!!(and told them...nicely of cource!) But I do like this girl! So I agree and pay the minimum for a month and see what happens. Then I start comming across all these "antiscam" sites, and find out that Lugansk is considdered to be the scam capital of the world! Didn't like that either!!! And find out that one of the most comon scams is the money for translation one, and that just as often as not, it's the agencys doing it. And the website for Alina's friends is not operational(cover page only... I was told that they are re-building the site at the moment). By now I'm thinking "am I another sucker?". I don't think so now, because she has always been expressive enough in her letters, and attentive to my letters; answers my questions, has not asked me for money, and has not once said "I love you, I want to come to you"(visa/ticket scam). She has no chance of getting into this country by herself anyway. And now I have found your Recommendation of Alina's friends, I feel even more confident that I may have found a jewel amongst the thorns! I am still cautious though, and only time will tell. So please, tell me everything about Alina's friends that you can!!!
remember,
there are the very patient scammers also . They can wait and wait and wait telling you all the correct things that you need to hear until you become convinced that she is for real . If i was a scammer , that is how i would do it. The women who expose themselves in the first few letters are the amatuers. The ones who never fuck up are the pros with a good english level usually. hell what is the big hurry ? Every good crook knows that the more careful planning you map out will draw the best or the most stupid fish. There was even a small segment on t.v. a while back that an organizatiopn in the FSU offers a course to FSU women on how to properly communicate with a western man to make him a beleiver. Interesting.......
I have to agree with JMO on this one Boof. First of all scammers the patient ones are working many men at the same time. Just do the math. If one woman can get 10 men to send her 50 bucks in a month, that is a pretty damned decent living in Ukraine for time spent on a computer. 50 bucks isn't going to put any of us in the poor house and they work the numbers. Check the many scam sites and if you have doubts, even the slightest it is best to walk away. I myself had to deal with many scammers in the beginning, but the Mantra that is stated Do Not Send Money, is good, Hell you could be writing the same woman with three different email addresses, they are pretty clever, but once they see you aren't biting they will give up.
2 things.
- Address TimH on his private Eddress, I'm sure he'll advise or help regarding this Alina's agency. I believe he knew her that well that a single call could answer what you want to know.
- Depending on your finances and your feelings for her maybe you should go over for a short holiday, and see her for yourself. Maybe unannounced even, just go, find her and say hi. The expression on her face will tell you what you're after.
Just keep in mind that in general your chances are slim, refer to the above posts, and making an 'alledged' use of an 'alledged' OK agency seems to be all you go by.
Hmmmm.... "proceed with caution" seems to be the gist of things. Well, I am a reasonably cautious person by nature, so I'm doing that anyway! :) I asked her for her home address in a letter I sent to her yesterday, so I'll see what she says to that. This is the first time I have initialized contact with a woman from an FSU country, but if I knew then what I know now about the high number of scammers in Lugansk, I wouldn't have contacted her. Before this I had a couple of women contact me "out of the blue" on a local dating site. One was from Vladimir in russia and tried the visa/ticket scam on me. This was before I had any idea of all this scamming that goes on, but I could see for myself what was happening and told her that I am NOT going to send money(approx $800 in this case) to ANYONE I have not met personaly. Of cource I never heard from her again, even thou she was telling me within weeks of first writing that I was "the one"! I didn't believe that for even one second...:) The second one was from Georgia, and sounded very simmilar to the first, so that scared me off pretty quickly! This was about 2 yrs ago, and guess what... I just found her on a scammers site! Same photo/different name and place. So I fended those two off with my own wits and judgement without knowing anything about these scammers. I was not looking for someone from overseas then. So I am deffinatly using caution now, and will try everything I can to be sure she is real. And your right Mike, $50 a month isn't going to bankrupt me, but it's all they will ever get!. So I am prepared to give her a little more time to convince me. After all, needing an interpereter is a legitimate reason for sending that amount of money to a guenuine girl. But it is also a convenient EXCUSE for scammers to use. I am also looking for a GENUINE english tutor in Lugansk, who does NOT work for an agency, and I will ask my girl if she will take english lessons. But I will find the tutor myself and pay them directly. My thinking on this is that if she is a scammer, then she won't like the idea of taking english lessons with a real tutor, when niether her or the agency will see any of my money! Does anyone think this will work? If so, then I need to find an english teacher in Lugansk!!! Anyone know of one?
Gawd... I'd better stop now! :)) But any advice from anyone will always be appreciated! Thanks again everyone...
Sorry... one more thing to anoy yas with! ;) Does anyone know anything about "Alina's Friends", an agency in Lugansk? I found this forum by doing a Google search on "Alina Kamenskaya", the manager, and found the posting by "TimH"(05.04.2004), who says he knows her personaly an recommends the club! Has anyone heard from this "TimH" recently?
Hi ThunderD. My finances are good, and I am liking this girl so far, but havn't known her long enough yet to go rushing off to meet her right now! If I think she is genuine in a month or two, I will tell her I want to see her around Christmas.
Your right... Email Tim myself! This is only my second time here. I overlooked the email addresses! DOH!!! :))
While your advice to Diamond Dave is, no doubt good and well thought out, it isn't enitirely timely.
Diamond Dave wrote his last post to this thread more than a year and a half ago - on June 30, 2004. You might want to check the date on the threads in the archives.
We haven't seen or heard from Diamond Dave since around that time and I doubt if he still visits the forum at all....
Dave, sounds as if she is genuine. Home phones are not that common in Lugansk and asking to someone to use their phone can be considered impolite especially if her family don't know about you. Regarding cell phones: they are more common but the cost is (at the high street - if that is what u can call it) about 40 bucks; which is a lot for a genuine university graduate.
I was in Lugansk over Xmas and can say it is a tip of a place. Contrary to some I did meet a genuine young lady but it was through a decent agency run by not so decent agency manager.
Dave it sounds as if she is genuine but remember it is every Lugansk girl dream to leave that city and that she, like most university students round the world, have some sort of thing or whatever you call it, going on with another fellow student. So in a way she probably is looking at being rescued out of there. The problem then is to bring in line with modern life. If things go well for you, meet her there and then take a plane trip to Kiev together so that you can assess her adaptability in a foreign and more modern environment.
I don't believe that two people who are of the opposite end of spectrum in social and financial standing (note they are not the same) can have a long term marital relationship full stop. It can be good as long as it lasts and then what?
For Dave: be carefull! I contacted a girl in Lugansk and I think she is the same you emailed..She is a scammer!!!The rule, however, is NEVER send money before you meet her. And also after it, be cautious.. Be carefull also to girls in Belovodsk, I saw one in the site recently, a beautiful one, and something tells me that is not real...
