OK OK I will go to the shop and buy some more;)))))))
I hope too, actually I'm not sure about the current information, as I found that one out only when her mother informed all us about that. She has not much time to write now herself:)
Well Im sure she will be busy for the next few weeks too !!
babies take so much looking after :o)
Which reminds me of something amusing :o)
For the first 3 years of a childs life we teach them to walk and talk, and then for the next 15 years all we want them to do is sit down and shut up :o))
Tim
as you probably think also, I think you friend who married so soon was very lucky. Unfortunatly such luck rarely shines upon me so I will have to be a little more calculating.
Ptichka
Please call me ID. When I choose my name I was in a poor mood and the name refected that mood. Althought, I do seem to atract them so maybe it is very appropriate. And ID is much easier to type I think
Not at all mate, I am glad I dont have to wait 3 years !!! Thats 3 years of my life I would be wasting and not with the woman I love, having babies !! And lots of practice at what is needed for making babies !! :o))
The list just got shorter. One of the ladies and I had a phone conversation yesterday with the daughter of a friend of hers acting as the interpreter. The lady and her friend live in the same building. The daughter and her husband live about 30 miles from me here in the states. That could be good for the future. The conversation was fantastic.
I got the opposing side of the media image created about American-FSU marriages. She said that over there the media portrays American husbands as forcing the women to work in strip clubs or worse. I told her she would not have to work in a strip club....unless she wanted to. Fortunately it came across as the joke it was intended to be. She enjoyed it. She was ready to talk about other things, but we thought it would embarrass the translator. It would be interesting to know if anyone has had to discuss things of this nature using an interpreter.
Anyway, the conversation was great and am now ready to visit and we have agreed on Kiev. Her home town will be scheduled for the second trip, if things progress. I do not know if she will be the only one I visit, but any others will have to come to Kiev, unless they want to wait for round 2.
So how do I start planning? Do I need to make reservations before applying for the visa or the other way around? US guys, where do I get the application?
I know the whole thing about an individual trip versus a tour, but I will have to sort this out for myself, not that I won't take advice.
I'm sure I'll have more questions later.
"I told her she would not have to work in a strip club....unless she wanted to."
LMAO !!!!! I hope you didnt really tell her "unless she wanted to" !!! :o))
Visa support first, then visa, then book your flights, and finally Go :o)) And dont forget to bring me a few 1000 ciggies back duty free !!!
Actually I did say "unless she wanted to", but I made sure the interpreter new it was to be a joke first and she and the interpreter already knew each other.
Since I will be flying non-stop to Ukraine from New York, is there a particular longitude and latitude from which I should throw the ciggies out the window?
Only if the plane flies over Leicestershire (thats pronounced Lestersheer just for our US brothers :o)) ) Then by all means drop them off :o))
When do you go Ditto ? YOu have probably said someplace, but it will take me housr to read and find, and only seconds to ask you :o) Why waste energy ;o)
I sent the letters to all the others and am ready for the one. The visa is in the works, the apartment is rented in Kiev (They sent me the invitation for the visa. Came with the rental.) and am starting to think of what to pack. I leave Sept 30. Am I packing too soon?
We have passed SMS back and forth and she says she can't wait for dessert in Kiev.
I'll have questions of what to do and see in Kiev, but I'll make that a seperate topic, so this one can die.
LOL
Its June the 4th !! And you have to ask me if you are packing too soon !! ;o))))
You pack whenever you like mate :o))
But it may make you feel a bit at a loss once you have packed and then have to sit for almost 3 months and wait :o)
Kiev is a beautiful city, lots of shops, museums and places to go, the restaurants are excellent, though not cheap, and the views from the hills on the side of Krstshatik are wonderful, right over the whole city centre !!!
Be sure to go to the park with the Huge Arc statue in it (cant remember the bloody name !!) It has amazing views across the river and lower parts of Kiev, also there is a big water park on the other side of the river which might be worth a visit, it was winter when I was there almost 2 years ago, so it was closed. :o)
On the latter, may I suggest virgin Camembert? The wine to go with it should be considerably older as it will not mature noticably during the anticipated period.
Olives also are a good choice, just in case you're picky ;-)
Yes thats the one mate :o)
And I strongly recommend anyone visiting Kyiv to go and see this arch !! Its bloody awesome !! The photos do not do it justice at all !!
Does Inna know its official name mate ? I was told it but have forgotten it. There is also a couple of very statues under the arch !!
You get a tantalising glimpse of the view beyond the arch in that photo too Scott, but beieve me is FAR more impressive when you actually stand on the stepped parapet and look out with your own eyes :o)
