I don't see nay good reason go to Keiv. Do you or anyone else has any recommendations for other smaller cities in Ukraine or Russia. Are there any cities close to Keiv within 2 hours driving distance.? Kiwi.. I have done international exchange programs in past and what i learnt is the best way is to go and stay with a local family and understand the culture. I met about 5 or 6 on my own,,,, and you know what’s really funny???? They belonged to an agency as well!!! You can’t escape it! The dating agencies have been around for a long time. Most were for locals, then opened their doors to the western world when the wall fell. In the beginning the agencies were in control of everything,, men came to see them, they introduced men to the girls or sold the girls’ addresses. As internet dating became popular, the agencies were about to become obsolete. A deal was made to work together, agencies would find the girls and take care of the local business,,, letters, phone calls, flowers, etc, and websites would bring in the men. Sometimes they still battle over their cut,, or their share of the pie! I have been told, that some agencies are still bitter with the websites, for taking control away. But if you look lost (not desperate - but lost) they will go way out of their way to help you. As I wrote earlier - a Ukrainian woman closed the store to walk me to a flower shop when I looked lost. They will fall all over themsleves to help you out in a grocery store - I mean other customers will - not store employees. If given the choice the "look lost" approach is far better than going to an agency - because it is an agency's JOB to relieve you of the most money it possibly. A lot of people - with too much money - who can't seem to think of enough foolish ways to spend it, when they buy a house, they will hire an "interior dectorator" to tell them how to make it look good, what accessories to buy, etc. etc. Its fine if you can afford it and if you remember that the JOB of the interior decorator is to relieve you of as much cash as possible - not to really decorate your house. If your house actually gets decorated - well that's okay too, I guess. Likewise a dating agency has its own agenda too. I have to depend on AFA and its affiliate agencies to put together a Romance Social - because I can't do it myself and I feel it works the best to meet women. But except for a Romance Social - I don't use any of their agency services. Observe your daily surroundings, enjoy all the beautiful women, the beautiful culture - and yes....notice how many women are happily coupled up with Ukraine men - they are not all lazy drunks...and the women do not need to be saved by some western hero! You have to present the best version of YOU! Once you have an idea of what's in store, then you can set out your next visit to Ukraine with a better understanding and a better set of expectations. I decided to only meet women who can speak English...proficient - not fluent is OK...down side? n one site, I only found 445 hot women who are proficient and do not require a translator....save time / money / hassle.....meet a women you can actually converse with????? Seems to me to be about one in 4. And I never use a translator. If she isn't exactly proficient but she really likes you - she will try harder and you can have a great time working with her.. Also - even though a lot of Ukrainian women have Ukrainian boyfriends - a LOT of them say things to me like "why can't our men be like you"? Obviously I take that as a compliment and an indication that I did something right. I am not the most social or outgoing guy in the world - in fact quite the opposite. But people say I make a great first impression. (I joke that its true. In fact it will take you a few meetings to realize you don't like me. It doesn't happen right away.) Probably the most fatal flaw I see in western men trying to appeal to Ukrainian girls - is that they seem to come across as classless. You don't have to be able to recite the classics and to be a member of the local yacht club - but if you come across as a "rum-dumb" you aren't going to get very far with these women. You don't want to look like you are "from the village". That's an expression I hear a lot when they describe undesirable western men. Don't pretend you are wealthy if you aren't of course. But don't pretend to be a yokel either - because Ukrainian women don't want that either. I know of one older man who attended some Romance Socials - who was worth several million dollars. Of course he didn't want a girl who ONLY wanted his money - so he dressed like somebody who had fallen off the turnip truck. Well he didn't find girls who were after his money. He didn't find girls at ALL. The girls already have enough guys who fell off the turnip truck and don't need any more.
