Jet, you should investigate social clubs for her to meet people..don't leave her home alone as a housewife..it will be a very boring existence for her with the tube and "Days of Our lives"..if she is bored with her life, she won't stay.
Adman is right, find a class of something or a social club she go too..keep her out of the bloody gym though, the type of men that go to those places are generally what we call "rooters"..out for hunting for a fook, sexual predators, no gym memberships and also keep her away from nightclubs and discos, no nights out with other girls you may know, no girls nights out because these places are also full of sexual predators, I let my ex-wife go out with the girls and she learnt to get up to no good by meeting and fooking other men their and this was my marriages undoing!
She should do daytime safe activities in places notgenerally frequented by rooters or be with you at other times at night
Yeah Jet, I was meaning when you get her to USA. You need them to be doing something so they dont get bored while you are at work.
My girl has been in NZ for 4 years and has now gone back for her 3rd course of English, They always need more. But I was more thinking of the social contact like Aussie mentioned.
Pity there are no Russians/Ukrainians in English classes near you. In Auckland there are many. We have thousands of students for everywhere.
Honestly - that might have been where some of the problem was with my Moldovan lady. I was working nights then midnight to 08:30 (People are suprised to find that MOST work at the Post Office is actually done at night. Our biggest crews work then - sorting the mail for next day dispatch or delivery.)
So I would leave her at 11:00 pm - she would go to bed alone in a stange apartment (in a strange country where she knew no one) and then I would get home at 9:00 am when we would nap together (which might or might not actually include sleep).
At around 12:00 noon she would want to get up and have breakfast/lunch - obviously I was mosre interested in sleeping at the time but didn't.
Then around 3:30 or 4:00 pm she would want to go out and do our daily task which generally included shopping at the mall.
Of course by 5:00 or 6:00 pm I was quite anxious to get home to have ANY chance of actually getting some sleep in before I had to get up at 10:30 om to go to work.
Typically I was getting 3 to 4 hours of sleep in a night this way and that was it. Getting 18 hours of sleep TOTAL in six days really does tend to wear on a person and consequently we did argue a bit.
And of course she got adequate sleep but cosntantly complained of being bored.
re Adman thats my plan as well I have made enquiries and there is a number of well run English schools close to me her English is perfect but a little bit of brushing up would be no problem.
As she intends to continue her education here which I intend to fully support her.
She is interested in keeping fit and I have said she can join the local gym with me one of the owners is married to a Ukranian girl and there is always a few there. Hopefully this will be a
joint interest we can have.
There is also a few Ukranians living in my town and many other Eastern European nationalties as well so im hoping she will have some friends soon. My brothers partner is Hungarian as well which she speaks fluently I have some Estonian friends who speak Russian.Actually they are going to the Ukraine with me for my next trip in 2 weeks!
Back to the point of this thread if we do have children we have to balance out the fact that maybe our new partners wont get on with our kids our visa versa but we are people as well and have needs as well companionship etc Reading one article I found it interesting where the lady a step mother bemoaned the fact that her husband or anyone in the family could scold the child but if she did then she was the worst person in the world.
For me I have always looked after my young son from a baby and enjoy this and I dont want or need anyone to take over this role but I hope we can all get on well and enjoy spending time together.
My lady evidently hears some biological clock ringing - after all she is advancing in years (according to her) being all of 27 years old. She wants to have a baby quite soon, an in almost immediately.
I have no problem with that - I love kids and wouldn't mind bing a father again.
Yes, the arguement can be made that at age 50 NOW, I might be the oldest father in my child's class. But it wouldn't bother me.
Well jet at 50 and having raised some kids all ready id say youd make a great dad lots of experience and maturity. It means that youd have much more patience and understanding than someone at the age of 25.You better learn to skateboard again though lol use loads of pads!
cant teach a old dog new tricks you raised one son already and it will all come back to you lol
nappies nappies nappies! I was in my sisters the other day and changed her baby cant believe I still remembered how!
You are talking about how to keep her occupied and away from boredom.
But the real task is how help her really adjust to living in US. And that means decent job. And college classes in order to get a good job. Not just English.
For example associate degree as RN nurse. It will take 2 years. Or accounting. Or ultrasound technician. Or master in civil engineering. Or math or chemistry teacher.
How is she going to pay for University for her future kids? If you are older then you may be already retied by this time and have to pay a lot of medical bills.
Helping her to get a decent job you risk a lot. She will be much more independent and will be a really equal partner in the marriage.
But risk worth it.
