"Being the 'curious George' that I am, I'd like to see what a traditional FSU wedding is all about"
Check out Elena`s models site GLT, there is lots of info there about what its like.
From personal experience, its a load of fun, but tiring too :o)
Ens,
"I just hope that I won't have to parade around naked with a hood over my head"
Only if you really really want to !! And if Lucy`s Mum lives for the wedding (which I deraly hope) then I think that stunt might finish the poor lady off !!
"Doesn't that screw up your fiance visa to which you must now go with the spousal visa?"
Well spotted Dale !!!
I wondered when someone might notice that !!
Of course it screws up the fiance visa because she wont be your fiance she wil be your wife !!
You cant have your cake and eat it Im afraid, if you marry there then its going to take you about 6 months to get her to the US (2 days if you are UK, and I know because I did it !!) If you want her to come on a faince visa you will either have to marry her in the US and then she can stay, or you could fly back with her to her country and marry there, but then her fiance visa will be null and void and she would need to stay there while you apply for a wife visa instead !!
If you want her to marry you on a fiance visa, then its marry her in the US, and Then go back to her country for a civil blessing and a party with her family and friends.
The Fiance visa is the fastest way to get an FSU woman to the US, but the wife visa is the fastest for the UK.
"if she decides to hi-tail it back to Russia she still has me to deal with as we will be married in both countries."
makes no odds Crash, you will only be legally married once, it counts in both countries even if you dont have a wedding in the second country.
Ptichka:
My Lugansk sister has been married almost 9 months now honey, and she still hasnt been allowed to go to her husband in the US, it could be another few months, but they registered their marriage and that spoiled her chances of a fiance visa.
As Olga says the only safe way is a church wedding without the registration, because thats just a church thing and not legal marriage in the FSU :o)
TimH I never checked how it is in reality, but I know how my friend and her husband did, maybe as Olga says they got the spouse visa for her, but I remember her talking about the fiancee visa...maybe I mix something up, but that was almost 1 year ago...and I definetely remember that they got registered at ZAGS here....
Tim good point about Lucy's Mom and the whole hood idea! That's why you are the go to guy here.
Going back to my premature (foolish) bringing up the matter of 'sex and money' with Lucy. In our phone conversation today she brought it up. She said "You are funny writing about sex and money before we have even met"! Like I said she is direct. Then the two of us just laughed about it for ten minutes. This girl is great.
Crash as you said earlier in this thread "All I hear when I go to my friends homes is "yes dear, when and how do you want it done?" Meanwhile they are some of the unhappiest men I know. A bunch of pussywhipped fools. And these misarable women become only more misarable. The more "yes dears" the more contempt and less respect the canine has for you. I know, I played the game for two decades for my kids sake. She did me a great favor in leaving me (and my kids). I will never subject my kids or my self again to the "spirit of Jezebel".
Lucy. and her old world ways is a God send to me. She is not only restoring my Faith in woman kind, but is helping me do that which I always new was right - be a man!
The male instinct to not be a puss triumphs, at the end. Yeah, I think I fell for that Sensitive sh#t for a year or two. But your right, Ensanta, the instinct to be a man is inate in all of us, if we only listen to it. I'll guarante Jesus was no puss.
Being from the US I've never understood you can't have the cake and it too. Then don't make the f*cking cake please!!!!!!!But my favorite was from Benjamin Franklin, "God made beer so we all could have fun"
One of my favorites was
"If you fall out that tree and break both your legs, dont come running to me for sympathy !!" ;o))
GLTALLTOAD:
Whilst it is perfectly OK to disagree with Ensata, I feel that you are beggining to overstep the mark when making derogatory comments about God, I mention this for the reason of Ens`s faith and his chosen profession, and I would prefer you to treat other peoples beliefs with a Damn sight less cynisim and a LOT more respect !!!
Well I just got a pretty big thrill and I just had to tell someone. I just now finnished talking with a girl I know in Chehov. She just happened to catch me online through instant messaging. ...Well less than 2 weeks ago I mailed her, regular post, a package and it was delivered while I was talking to her. Oh, I forgot to mention that we both had our web cameras on......So I got to watch her unwrap this parcel ...live! In the parcel was a portable CD player I sent her and a few CDs, one of which I had recorded a message to her in Russian. This was the first time she had heard my voice. I watched her try to figure out how to make the CDplayer work, put on the headphones and then listen to the CDs. It was really something!!..........To tell you the truth ,I half didn't expect the package to even make to her.
It will be a while before my Russian gets that good Tim, But I have been thinking about whether or not she has mic capability on her computer. I know she can get sound because I emailed her a song Ops here she is now gotta go
Man:
All pc`s with a sound card will take a microphone mate, and if she can listen to music on hers then she has a sound card :o) If there isnt a socket on her monitor then there wil be one on the back of her machine, if she has a sound chip on her board then the socket will be one of the ones around where her speakers plug in, and if she has a seperate sound card on a PCI slot then the socket will be on the back of that :o)
Maybe you should mail her one, they are only about $5 here in the UK, and I doubt they would be much more in the US :o)
Tim
"Director of the keepin` it real department"
And now PC helpline !!! ;o)
