29 days to go huh?......get that application off asap my friend, british post being what it usually is!!
The currency is pronounced "greevna" or "kreevna" depending on whereabouts you are in Ukraine. As for the ladies,well....were do I start..:)),they are beautiful, educated, astute, loyal to a fault, and very honest, with a few exceptions that you will find anywhere. To be honest lovely ladies are in abundance all over the FSU,just look at the variety of places visited by some of the members here.Of course I am biased as I am married to a ukranian lady.....but the phrase "a kid in a candy shop" is pretty much true wherever you go....:))).
Are you flying to Kiev (Borispol)?
The reason I ask is that my wife reliably informs me that if it is possible for you to fly to Lviv then you will save a lot of time and hassle as a train journey from Kiev to Lutsk would take considerably longer than many other destinations as Lutsk is one the smaller cities, and as such is not serviced by the express trains that run from Kiev to the likes of Kharkov,Dnipropetrovsk etc, which would involve you with at best a journey of at least 10-12 hours usually overnight too........worth thinking about I suggest!
You will find that Ukranian is more widely spoken in that part the country too, hence another sugggestion for a Ukranian phrasebook as opposed to a russian one.Hope that helps a little,if you need more,...ask or feel free to e-mail me.
Ditto on the Ukrainian ladies. I have never been around a woman that is so real. It is very humbling to me. If anyone asked me, Ukraine would be the first choice. For the most part I found most Ukrainians
to be very friendly, maybe because I was a source of curiosity to them. Everyday it seemed like they all were staring at me. Well maybe it was the Mark Martin Viagra 6 jacket that made them most curious!
