I'm Scott and finalizing a neverending divorce with my American prize. I put a post in the Anastasia section that may or may not get approved as I was venting a bit.
I would like to pursue this, if Anastasia is not good ( again, bye bye $50,) what are good sites or any other means of finding a FSU woman,
I'm 38 and still in great shape, descent guy, got all my hair. As soon as my American Princess is done raking me over the coals I'll figure out where I am financially and besides I can always make more money. I figure I can do pretty well with one of these fine ladies.
I know you think I'm nuts just getting out of a divorce and looking but I consider the last 5 sexless and absolutely horror filled years not really a marriage but some sort of bizarre right of passage to heaven, because if I didn't kill her after that, Then I must be an Angel.
I've got all my hair, just not so much of it :)
Your best bet is to Google for 'Russia marriage' or 'Russia dating', or Ukraine or whatever and then to Google again the agency identity for what individuals, such as you or I, have to say about them.
My basic advice would be not to pay per letter and not to pay per contact details, some of those contact details still for sale are a decade out of date, just go with the flow or not use an agency at all, perhaps find some ladies profiles where you communicate directly with the ladies.
Thank you for the advice, I guess it's really no different from here, just have take a few lumps along the way and weed out the bad ones, I suppose they couldn't be any worse than the women here.
Well realistically I would say you need to plan on a minimum of 3 or 4 trips to FSU and that's if you should beat the odds and meet the right lady on the first or second trip, if not then trip costs just go on and on and on.
So what is the airfare from US to FSU, just an estimate of let us say 1K, if you're to spend a week there at a time then let us say internal travel, accommodation, wining and dining etc. will cost 2K per week. So far we're up to 12K (minimum).
Then there is her visa application, her travel etc. to/from the consulate, I don't know how much the visa costs but let's round the total cost of the visa application up to 1K.
Then her travel to US, another 1K.
So just to meet a lady, based on you finding 'miss right' in the first or second trip we've blown 14K but the odds of meeting miss right so quickly are stacked against you, a guy might might think he has the upper hand because he's writing to multiple ladies but what does he think the ladies are doing, writing only to him? The odds of that are probably about 100/1. These ladies can meet, a week at a time, perhaps 52 guys a year, they can afford to pick and choose.
It doesn't have to be so expensive. My experience was in '99, but I think it still may be useful. After some months of corresponding with several ladies I narrowed it down to the one I most wanted to visit, and corresponded only with her. After emailing each other (private email without agency involvement) almost daily for a couple months I made plans to go visit her in Volgograd. She met me at the airport in Moscow and we took a bus to the Metro, and the Metro to the apartment I had rented. Taking a cab from Moscow to the airport is very inexpensive, but the Mafia controls the cabs that work at the airport and their prices are a big ripoff. The lady whose apartment we rented cooked most of our meals. When we did go out to eat my fiance found restaurants that were reasonably priced. We went to the Opera at the Bolshoi, to a ballet, visited the Kremlim, and took a beautiful ride on one of the river ferries. The tickets were very inexpensive. Just don't purchase them from Intourist or from your hotel. Next we flew to Volgograd. I stayed at my fiance's apartment, and we ate there or at her parents most of the time. We spent a few days at her parents dascha.
I know it's risky going to meet just one lady, but my wife told me that if I had come over to visit more women than just her she never would have agreed to marry me. I did have a backup plan to try to visit another lady in Sochi if things didn't workout with her. I don't know what the total cost of my trip was, and it would cost more today, but nowhere near as much as you're talking about.
Well, the money isn't such a big deal, I just dont see me doing more than maybe 10k or 20k in a year or so,, beyond that, I can afford it..
I've started up with a couple of ladies from russianbridesanddating.com does anybody have any experience with ladies from this site? Both of them had me switch over to a @mail.ru account like right away for correspondence. I kinda went both ways on this, it seemed fishy at first, but then that's kinda what you want to do in the first place. But then you would think, if they have a personal account, why does it take 3 4 days to get a letter back, you would think, it's email, could talk everyday if we wanted.
Is @mail.ru accounts like a yahoo account whereas she probably doesn't have internet/computer but goes to the library or something to check email on a public account?
Just seemed weird, no harm no foul yet, just seems a bit off..
mail.ru is just the same as yahoo or hotmail.
It's a free mail account you can access anywhere.
If takes 3 or 4 days to get an email back then you should assume she's using and internet cafe.
Maybe she is using a friends comp.
Remember these girls have have to eat, sleep, get to work, etc etc...getting to a computer every day isn't as easy as it is in the west.
Put it this way; if you didn't have comp at home and had to pay to send an eamil to someone. would you do it every day?
It's the middle of winter over there and the trams don't have heating. When she comes home from work maybe she just doesn't feel like it.
Scotty: Actually is a GOOD thing (very good) that the women had you switch to a mail.ru account quickly. What you DON'T want is a lot of expensive pay-per-contact letters through an agency.
There are MANY unscrupulous and dishonest agencies out there - and many charge per letter and have agency staff writing those - so if a girl is writng you free-of-charge to her own mail.ru email account - it is a VERY good thing.
westsail: You write of your experience in Russia in 1999. Russia had a devastating economic collapse in 1998 - so I am guessing that things were CONSIDERABLY different in Moscow than they are today.
Moscow is, today, considered to be the most expensive city for tourism in the world (http://www.breakingtravelnews.com/article/20060626093656162) followed by Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
There are still great bargains for travel in the FSU - Even KIEV, while more expensive than many is a downright bargain compared to Moscow (recently attended a ballet there with GREAT seats for the equivalent of $20 - but you cn see the ballet for only $2 in the cheaper seats).
I still (as regular readers know) advocate Romance Socials as a great bargain - when just starting out at this. Its a great way to meet real genuine women, without playing agency games.
I dont think this site does a very good job weeding out scammers either.
Girl 1 from odessa looking for:
Search For A man I am looking for? Well, I am not looking for Mr “prince on the white horse”, there are no ideal people in this world… But I would like to find a person, who would be able to understand me, the one who would be able evaluate my merits and help me to get read of my demerits (there are not to many of them, please don't worry:)
Girl 2 from Odessa Looking for:
Well, I am not looking for Mr “prince on the white horse”, there are no ideal people in this world… But I would like to find a person, who would be able to understand me, the one who would be able evaluate my merits and help me to get read of my demerits (there are not to many of them, please don’t worry:))
This goes on and on in this site, it's all Bullshit. Some aren't as blantely obvious, but out of 7000 I bet thier 100 UNIQUE profiles, but the Ukraine seems to be the biggest scammers, I really dont run into this as much for Russian girls,, either that, or they at least give us a little more credit that were not THAT stupid
Hey, both these girls have the same qualities that I'm interested in, I believe I'll contact them both.
Scotty, how do we know if you are scammer or not, for example?
read how fiance.com works and read this forum. our site members have all tools to necessary to recognise whois serious who is not. who told you that those girls are scamemrs? email to admin if you have any issues. what a stupid post...
Yes Olga, your correct, I should've just emailed directly to admin
actually I had a smartass answer for this but, in reality, if your really interested in weeding things out.
In short, make a database from known scammers, set the tables for searching = pics, names, cities, looking for ( certain things they always write ), ect
then, I'm sure you have a database of these profiles. run query's against things as said above. You could probably weed out 1000 profiles or at least red flag them. Of course you dont have time or resources to go through them all. But it's a step toward being truely legit.
And it's really as simple as a button click when you have the programming in place,
because if multiple women are saying the exact same things IT"S A RED FLAG.. Sorry, but I've been doing this about 2 weeks and I think I'm correct here.
If you dont know how I can explain in detail to admin..
( And PS I usually would charge mega dollars per hour for this knowledge, that's your first clue I'm not a scammer, I dont want or need your cash. I'll do it for free / well my own self serving agenda, but free non the less)
