I have some friends from Eastern Europe here and I have been taking my shoes off at their door for more than 2 decades..shoe removal is not new to me before one enters someones home. Tell me about the lifestyle they live besides doing a google search. It real easy to keep a FSU and Western marriage together, you act like a man, you keep your promises, you treat her well and with respect. How to find a real woman, with common sense. Find a woman who has the same values and goals in life. You make it sound like this is some incredible journey in life some huge mystery. Why would you treat a woman from Ukraine or any where in the world than you would in your own home area? Unless you consider you're doing them some kind of favor by taking them from a third world country. By trying to bribe them with your economic status as you have tried to do with buying them things and requiring strings attached. Then call them scammers. If you don't send money you don't get scammed. Finding the right girl shouldn't be any different than in your home country. I chose the FSU because of the current mentality of women in the States. Their victims or feminists and the ones that are of solid core values are married and have been for years. Be willing to accept the responsibility that you will have to help them for the first year or so with their adjustment. Be willing to sacrifice your time and your needs to theirs. Set aside that she will not be in the work force for at least a year, or design a business that she can be involved in so she feels like she is a contributor. In other words don't be so damned selfish. When you find the right girl it is an amazing experience. The only regret I have is I didn't meet her 20 years ago. So the practical things you speak about, you know very little about. Learn their history and culture. Taking one's shoes off going into a house isn't only in their culture. It's not only taking off one's shoes but wearing Tahpkey. Stocking feet doesn't cut it. Learn the Holidays that are important to them. Celebrate two Christmas', we did. Besides womans day. Learn about their religion. Scanning the google universe doesn't quite bring to the table the practical experience of going there. If you are worried about spending money, this isn't for you. I remember a fellow Aussie here named Idiot Detector asking me what I would do if this fizzled out. I told him I would travel the Country and see things. Hell you can spend an easy two weeks seeing the historical side of Kiev and not be close to seeing it all. Indeed I avoid Heathrow as much as I possibly can, the place is a nightmare, give me a regional airport any day! OK, not since 2001 have I worked airside at an airport but were I to commit an 'aviation offence' or indeed be caught smuggling then I would never be permitted an airport ID card ever again, would be somewhat foolish of me don't you think? And, just for the record, I do not live anywhere near London.
