	Pete's Blog - FSU Dating Advice (mostly!) > another morning in kyiv! another morning in kyiv! well... it's about 9:20am and another not so sunny morning in kyiv! at least it's not so cold today... about +2ºC. and it's probably time me and olya actually went to sleep! it's great... she sleeps at even more strange times than me when she can! no plans for today apart from sleeping and working on some more coding later on... all the snow has melted now! there was snow everywhere a couple of days ago, olya even bought me a pair of winter boots so i'll be ok! mind you, i still need to buy a decent winter coat! i've heard it might be one of the coldest winters for a long long time this year... maybe even lower than -15ºC here? should be fun!       Added: 11/29/2008 02:27:30 Author Comment Petey Member send PM add to buddies Send: 12/16/2008 02:50:04 Hey Pete, My name is Pete B. also. I have read a few of your posts in the forums and now you blog post. I went to Vinnitsa last July and met my fiance Oksana. Wow, what a blessing. All I can say is that I am excited to be working on the fiance visa and can't wait to see her again. They have some wonderful women in the Ukraine. I went on the free sites for several years and met about every scammer in the FSU. Then I paid for a membership on a Russian site and got no letters until the the last few days of my first months subscription. I re-upped for another month and it happened again. No one was interested until a couple of days before my next payment was due (hmmmmm !!). I figured it out and said no more. I found a Christian dating site next and did a free membership there. I got some smiles and one in particular stood out (She was Baptist instead of Orthodox). I smiled back. About 3 weeks later I got a letter from her and I ended up paying for a month just to read the letter. I was also writing to a couple of other ladies there but Oksana and I just seemed to click. She told me after a couple of months that she no longer wanted to search for her other half on the Internet. She said she wanted her search to end on me and my search to end on her. I agreed and told the other two ladies that I had met my girl. They were honored that I told them instead of just dropping them. Oksana and I talked on the phone several days a week, exchanged Emails and I got to talk to her little girls. We bonded well and so after a few months Oksana asked me if I would come and visit her. I got my passport, flew to Kiev, met her at the airport and we took the train to Vinnitsa. I met her family, stayed with her brother and wife for a night and then she, I, her two daughters, sister and her brother-in-law (I think as chaperons) went to the Black Sea for about 8 days. It is absolutely the best vacation I ever went on. I met and was spoiled by the sweetest woman I have ever wanted to know. I am looking forward to her getting here and I thank God that He kept this woman for me. I am one grateful American with a good Ukrainian woman. In kiev you can do that for $30 per night of you go with semi pro college students. I got to imagine it's even cheaper in smaller towns. You can update them every night and save money.
