It is true that sexual responsiveness is repressed in certain cultures. To ask whether or not there are culturally determined factors in the sexual behavior of women from the former USSR doesn't seem completely out of line. Why are we beating this guy up? Consider Amish women, South Miami Beach women, Colonial era Puritan women and hippy women from the 60's and 70's. Do you think that their sexual attitudes and activity (in marriage or outside of it) were the same? (I hope that you have awareness of a couple of these groups anyway). Different cultures place different rules on what is considered acceptable and what isn't. A lot of inhibition in our own culture is based on religious teaching (Judeo-Christian and others). Nonreligious or religion-oppressed cultures often carry less baggage.
